Hi Colsy.
I applied for Immigration March 2007 (simplified application). On the 25 of July 2009 I recieved a letter with a list of documents to send within 120 days. On the 14 of October I sent everthing "per einschreiben mit Rückantwort" so I know they have recieved it.
I had everthing that was not in english or already an international document translated and notarized.

I don`t exactly know if I did it right but that was asked in the letter.

lots of luck Hope2010

Hello Hope,

It sounds as if you have done everything correct. At the end of the day, if they have a query they will get in touch with you. They did so with me about sending additional payslips and tax returns. I notarized this and sent it as it was. I did not translate the payslips as this is one aspect they are lenient with.

By the way, they corresponded with me by email.

Best of luck with your application.

Hi,

did this work out in practise for anyone?
I.e. did the Berlin office accept the untranslated German police clearance certificate (with no entries)?

Thanks!

The German police check does not have to be translated as per an email I received from the Berlin visa office. Proof of custody for children does though.(probably doesnt apply to most people anyway).

If you have long working contracts etc. the first page can be translated, if you decide to translate it at all. We ensured that all references were translated.

I am not certain a reputable certified translator would put his stamp/mark to a document that was not infact translated by them.

For those that are based in or around Frankfurt am Main - We notarised all our documents at the Ortsgericht Beglaubigungstelle in Frankfurt am Main. Apparently Hessen is the only state in Germany that will do this.

Hi,

I sent an email to Berlin and in their answer they said that I do not need a translation in that case.

But I can not say if it works in practice, because I am still in the process.

If you have enough time during your 120 days you can write them an email and ask.

I sent the Germany police check in as German seeing it is a German office I was sending it to. I believe this is one of the few of the let's say "authorative" documents that requires no translation to English.

hi @all
I applied on October 05th 2007 in Berlin unter simplified procedure. i recieved on 01 february a request to send the documents. The Berlin Ambassy requests me to update the form IMM0008 (if the number of the familly members are increased). But The three initial application forms have been filled at that time (2007). The question is now: can the information on this form be different? (i.e where i aim to live in canada?, how much funds i have? or which nationality i have). On the initial form i wrote on these questions Halifax and 17000 $CAN. Now i what to immigrate to Ottawa and my nationality ist now different. Do you think it will a bad idea to provide different information between the initial forms and the updated form?
I will appreciate any suggestions and help
Thanks

Hi Aljaraeau, I would most definitely ask the immigration officer the same questions you have put forth. One thing though, I do not think it matters what city you decide to go to in the end. I mentioned Calgary in mine, however, if I was offered a job or the opportunities looked better elsewhere then I would go elsewhere. Unless the location is important to your location, I would not bother mentioning that point.

If your citzenship has changed to German as an example, maybe it is best to write to the embassy letting them know of this change. In my opinion, if you think it won't hinder your application, then hold no fear, as in truth you have nothing to hide.

Personally, I won't be making it this time to Canada, maybe in the future, who knows... but the very best of luck with your application!

Do anyone knows if the assesment of the medical results usually take place in Vienna? Iam very confuse about that. By the way my wife is Austria citizenship and had been included to the PR application
Please advise

I applied under simplified process on September 13, 2006.
January 2, 2007 - processing started
July 2008 -request for docs
January 2009 - requested additional docs
I call my immigration officer about every three months since I got his number in one of his e-mails.
he said that in March background check was initiated in my home country (UKRAINE)

Nothing since than. Calling him tomorrow again:( I wrote to CSIS, their reply was vague and has no important info.
I am pretty desperate but not giving up yet. I guess it also depends where you are from, I mean nationality.
Agree with you. that's hard to get anywhere if you're from Eastern European block. Wrong Faterland.

Just as an information for you:
I have submited all my documents only with certified translations, that means - without any notarization, and it worked. The Embassy wrote me after that to send them also the original copies of my police certificates (the one form Germany and from my Motherland) and that was all. All together it took a little bit long, but at the end I have got my visa and was happy for that.
Good luck to you too!
