Body Shops like Infosys paying exploitable level of salaries get the most sponsored H1B's. There was a case where a company in California was paying their employee Indian scale salary. So effectively <$50 per day. Don't put US on some kind of immigration pedestal, when their is a growing clamour in US to refine its immigration policies.

And Obama is talking about retaining foreign students and Canada won't do the same? PGWP workers get more points anyways. Go look at that stat sheet in the other thread, the people in the upper 400s (470+) are all CEC applicants. The number of people above 470 in that sample of applicants is less then 5-7%. CEC people will always be picked.

I agree on the abuse of H1B, but it comes down too, to the personal experience, in my case it was a little bit complicated because this company never sponsored anyone before, and where I work I was told by the Department of Labor that I was the first Engineer applying for such visa (around 6 counties), so as you could imagine, some red flags were raised, but in general terms as long as you and the company sponsoring you provide the evidence required then you are fine, the biggest issue is to get the docs in, before the annual quota is met.

By the way to praneet87, the Nobel prize is something called EB1 Category, and is only one of the categories for H1B visa. There are more.

While it doesn't really say once every month on CIC website (it just say 'regular basis' so they can change it later if they want), that seems to be the most logical case.

It doesn't say monthly now but I did read that a few days ago on a CIC web page which I can't find at the moment. It said there'll be draws once a month, and Ministerial Instructions will be released monthly to guide each draw.

Do notice though that my reference website does say that the Ministerial instructions may just instruct CIC to draw only from specific programs (example PNP). Only when the Instructions don't specify what category to draw from, then they'll start drawing based on Comprehensive Score Ranking, which includes people without LMIA/PNP.

It's a total change and it will impact some applicants.

For those saying that CIC make up the bulk of applications so will be guaranteed positions - this won't be the case going forward. FSW was shutdown and the intake was thereafter limited. There are a lot of specialist foreign workers who will be able to get remote job offers, LMIA's and will be very excited with the changes - as their applications can now be processed within 6 months.

We won't really have a full understanding under the end of 2015. One thing is for sure, apply as soon as you can, the more CEC apps that go in at the beginning, the bigger the chance of acceptance.

I am also in same situation, not finding the way from where I can get the LIMA document/approval etc.. Me too on the same Intra-company transfer program in Canada. I am not sure who will provide us the LIMA document etc.

Please guide step by step with full details..
