Call from a CIC officer or is it a possible Fradulent call?

Good morning,

I received a call this morning from a CIC officer. The 'officer' was telling me that there's an issue regarding my identity status and that I have to file an IMM 1000 which I am assuming has something to do with my immigrant status/information. also, the 'officer' ( which I think is pretending to be an officer from CIC), kept on telling me that I have several charges that are being passed to the RCMP and I have to show up in court about it. So with all these information, does anyone think if this is legit or not? I mean, he even asked for my mother's name in the first place and when I told him that I am my mom's son, he actually moved on with questioning me about my identity.

Please respond to this post as soon as you can as I am severely worried if this is real or a plain scam.

Call cic and ask them if they called you asking for your mothers name.

I hope you didn't disclose your info on the guy who just phoned you?

Did you even checked the caller ID of the call?

I really didn't disclose anything. He even asked me if my the number he is calling is my landline number then I hanged up. I can barely hear him though because his voice was either shaky or just too low for me. and yes, I called the Cic after I received such call. The CIC agent said tha there is no such phone call from them this morning. Then the agent said that I will have to call the anti fraudulent number just to inform them that I received such weird call from that FAKE officer.

p.s. Funny how he even asked about my mother first then I told him I am the son. Plus, he gave me this weird case number and that I could face possible charge..... etc. That part made me realized that it is a scam..... well, judging by his voice and how he communicated with me over the phone.
