We sent our inland sponsorship package about a month ago.
I called to see if i will get any info about my AOR..
I wouldn't have been so upset if the agent didn't find any info and just simply told me "you're going to receive it soon" or something.

The thing is..he didn't even know what AOR is insisting that I'll not get any other letter before 1stage approval.. lol
He just explained how long it will take for 1stage approval which i can see on cic webpage..
I had to explain to him AOR is Acknowledgement of Receipt, and applicants usually get it within a month...
Then he said.. "well, if you don't believe me, I don't have anything else to say.."

They seriously need to train agents properly.. sigh...

The agent that I spoke to this morning was also not aware of what AOR was, but still managed to sort of answer my question. ::)

I'm not surprised. However, the service sector has been going down hill for years. Companies and governments do not put much into training as they used to.

This is a serious problem...

Now I don't even want to call them because I will have to explain to them what AOR is.. lol

The most crazy experience I have encountered with CIC agent was that... the agent asked me, what do I know about my file... I said, you should be the one telling something to me right?

We never got an AOR. But fortunately we had one form returned because we didnt write "n/a" on one line. And that letter had a UCI number on it and also gave us a clue that they had indeed recieved the application!

If you dont get an AOR letter, just call them back in a month or so and get the information you need which is the sponsors UCI number and the applicants UCI number. You both will have different ones.

I have my UCI number, because I'm on my post graduate work permit.. But with that, it doesn't show anything on the ecas..
