It is better to withdraw the applications and demand them to refund full amount and can apply when things get normal. In normal times the whole process will be less than six months.

Hi, any updates on your side? our timelines are very similar, Applied in September 2019; scheduled for test on March 17th 2020 (cancelled on the 14th). I am waiting from yn online test so far.
Hi,
No updates from my end. The last update was DM on feb 9. I got test invite on Jan 13 and completed it on Jan 24.

I think things will be slow for another year or two. Its all based on luck.

I don't think this will regularize in the short term. If you withdraw, you may end waiting 3 years to have a decent processing time.
Everybody is super frustrated with this, many people is almost at the 2 year mark without any updates, but it's still better than not to be on the queue.

Hi Alex, I am in the same boat as you, waiting since giving the citizenship test on Jan 25, no updates afterwards, have you called IRCC, to see whats the hold up?
Hi engrdani, yes, I called them recently, they said everything is fine with my profile, test and the whole application, and that I would just have to wait for the Calgary office to send me the oath invitaion.
I think someone has to wake the Calgary office up. The sping is almost here, but they are still hibernating. :(

I also called them today, and they told me that everything is fine on the file, but your background checks are still going on an I was like..........what?
So no idea, what is happening.

Do you know what I noticed after contacting them so many times last year?

Basically, an officer finally looked at my file after so long wait without any updates (GCMS notes showed no activity on my file for a long time), and my file was finally showing DM in August 2020 but during this time as well, so many other applicants received updates on their applications. This simply means that once an officer from the Calgary office gets back to work, He/She will process so many applications at once.

At the moment I feel that all officers are moved to do other jobs not related to citizenship applications and that is why no single Oath invitation reported recently from the Calgary office.

No, I have not and I don't know whether doing this worth it?
It is standard practise that is recommended when our immigration applications are not progressing. We are not losing anything anyways.
