Hi everyone,

All the best to everyone else.
thanks for everyones advice to date.
C :D

Congratulations Kiwicaro!

I'm sorry to hear that TigerL, are you sure there is no mistake?
I thought that medical evaluation and final interview belonged to completely different stages, as it is shown on CIC website.

Count your blessings... the extension saves you the time and cost of having to redo medicals. Cheer up. ;) It has to be extended before they can issue her PR visa because the latest date to land is same as the expiration date of the medicals.

Hi missjblake,

no...no luck...we still haven't got the letter. But very interesting (and confusing), we sent a fax to CIC Calgary and asked for an update today. This afternoon, we got a call back from them. The officer said my wife's medical exam had expired (she did the exam in April last year but she received the letter of confirmation for the interview this March, one month before the expiration). She said they now need to wait for the medical result extension before the re-schedule of the interview. But I was wondering....if there were no flooding, and we went to the interview (assuming it went well), she would already have got her status. Why now they need the extension? Nothing has changed before and after the flooding.

SenoritaBella, do you know if the extension approval is from Ottawa? Or, Calgary CIC office has to contact my wife's Panel Physician?

My understanding is it is done by the Medical Office in Ottawa.

I just got the letter from CIC Calgary. They requested my wife to do the Chest X-Ray. The letter instructed her to have it by the same medical practitioner she had the exam last time. I immediately contacted CIC again because my wife did her exam in China but now she is living in Canada. CIC replied that she could do it here.

I don't understand why the letter was written by CIC China. It also instructed the practitoner to send the result back to them. Does anyone know why?
