I'm also planning for Calgary...

I have some questions:
are you planning to move first alone and then call your family untill you find work? or just at one go the whole family and look for a job... its just very difficult to quit my job and look for a job... its a big plan and decision....

Better to come alone initially, bring your family here once you get a job.

We will all go together. My husband being the principal applicant. Intends to keep his job as it doesn't affect his resident location. Until he gets a similar or better job in calgary. Which is our sole aim of this whole process.

what do you mean by Intends to keep his job as it doesn't affect his resident location?
do you mean he will not resign?

No he won't. His job is based on different locations but his base is flexible. So moving to canada does not affect his job. So he intends to still keep his job until a better one comes along.

Your husband is a lucky guy. It's always better to be on a job when you search for another job.

Yes it is. So for now he'll be working outside canada until something better comes along.

I am thinking to land in Alberta, probably calgary although I have mentioned Toronto as my POE. However, I think we can land anywhere in Canada once inshALLAH everything goes through!

Congrats to the forumites who have already gotten their VISA stamped and are landing.

FSW can land anywhere in Canada and settle anywhere in Canada but if they want to settle in Quebec province then they have to first land in non Quebec province, complete their landing formalities and then fly to Quebec province to settle there.

Hi,
I am also going to land in Calgary probably in March/April 2015.
