Dear Friends,

I have come to Canada in ICT category on August 21, 2016. Iam planning to submit my profile under the CEC category by claiming 2 years of work experience in Canada.

I have a question in terms of the 2 years calculation. Will I complete 2 years on July 21, 2018 or August 21, 2018?

Can you please advise on this so that I can plan to submit my profile?

Thanks,
Srikanth

Answer is simple for me 2 years = 730 days so for me any time after August 21 2018 is when 2 years is up not July 21 2018 which is only 699 days so not 2 years

The date you arrived in Canada is not relevant, the date you started working is the relevant date.

If you started working on Aug 21, 2016, 2 years would be Aug 20, 2018.

I think you're asking this because of the way the EE profile system calculates experience using only MM/YYYY instead of MM/DD/YYYY.

If you were to submit your profile today, you would receive credit for 2 years, because the system is counting from Aug 2016-July 2018.

IRCC advises you that it is YOUR responsibility to calculate your experience correctly. If get an ITA and you submit a complete eAPR, your experience will be evaluated based on MM/DD/YYYY complete dates.

For you, since you have more than one complete year of experience and clearly meet the Minimum Eligibility Criteria (MEC), you could submit your profile now. If you receive an ITA before you complete 2 years, y\it would be OK, you would just have to wait to submit your complete eAPR until after you actually complete the 2 years.
