Hey guys,
I landed in In Canada for the first time as permanent resident on June 22nd 2010 and I left on August 11th 2010, I returned to Canada to settle on September 6th 2011 (391 days out of Canada). I also traveled to the USA for a total of 9 days this year.
I plan to sign and send my Citizenship application on August 20th 2014. So, by the time I sign my application, I have would have been out of Canada for 400 days out of a total of 1522 days (from June 22nd 2010 to August 22 2014). So normally, 1522-400 = 1122 days
THE PROBLEM IS: When I try to simulate and see if I meet the residency requirement using this form:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/citizen/CIT0407E.pdf
Question C says: If the number of days is more than 1460 (4 years), enter 1460 on Line C.
But if I enter 1460 it will be 1460-400=1060 which makes me not eligible!! But I normally would have spent 1122 days in Canada by August 22nd 2014, so eligible!
So please, does anyone has an idea why they oblige us to write1460 instead of 1522 in this case?
Any idea will be highly appreciated!Or is it that i am not eligible yet?
Thanks!
