Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding calculating physical presence for PR renewal. I am preparing to renew my second PR card. However, Its not been 5 years since I became a PR. So can I count the time that I was a temporary resident (before I became a PR) within Canada in the last five years for physical presence as well? e.g. 1 day can be counted as 0.5 day when I was on work permit?

Thanks for your reply in advance!

No. You can only count days commencing from the day that you became a PR.

When does your current card expire?

Hi, my card is about to expire Feb 2024. I got it in Feb 2019 . So I plan to renew it sometime near Oct 2023.

Make sure you keep accurate records of your travels from/to Canada.

Since you've apparently already renewed your PR Card once before, you probably already know that you will need (and needed) these dates for the travel History section of the application.
