Landing tomorrow... Enjoy! :)

I hope everybody else here is good!

Hello, Congrats to all those who have finished!

Can someone help me out please. I am in Egypt. I am trying to pay all those fees (sponsorship application, principal application, and rights of citizenship). My visa does not allow for online purchases. My husband has asked countless friends and family to lend us their visa cards, but all seem to have the same problem, online spending is forbidden by their banks. There must be some other way to pay the fees, as not everyone has a visa card. Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Also, god willing i find a way to pay those fees, if I am refused as a sponsor will the $475.00 principal application, and right of citizenship $490.00 get refunded. I know the $75.00 for the sponsorship application will not be refunded.

Thank you.

Looks like you really need a credit card to pay the fees online. I think the solution would be to buy a prepaid credit card. (like here http://www.nbe.com.eg/en/Default.aspx?AID=2&CID=12#Title)

Good luck with your application! :)

DO you have to have an account with nbe bank in order to get this prepaid internet card?

No idea, you should call them. I am sure all banks have a similar product.

You will get the money (all except the $75) back only if you tell them you want to cancel the application if you are not approved as a sponsor (I believe it's the first question on the first form, sorry I don't remember what the form number is.

The banks should have been open on Wed & Thurs, were you able to ask them about getting a pre-paid credit card to be able to pay for the application??
I know there have been many issues as of late with the Egyptian banks because of the dollar crisis, hopefully it will sort itself out.

Keep us updated :)

Also, I think it would be a good time to apply since it doesn't seem like there are many applications at the Cairo Visa office now (since this thread has been very quiet as of late).

On another note, they finally started on my husbands application, since the PA side of ECAS is now "in process". It took just over a month from the time it was transferred from Canada.

Also, the time has been reduced to 12 months from 13 months and the SA approval time has gone down to 29 days (from 56 days when I applied in June).

It is question 1 on IMM1344. :) I agree with AladdinsGirl, it's a very good time to apply from Cairo.

AladdinsGirl, they finally began to process your husband's application, that is a very good news!!! For me it tooks 2 months to process the PR, so he will be with you soon!!! I don't trust ECAS, for my husband, the sponsorship status stayed "In Process" until he land in Montreal. :)

Keep up post when your husb will arrive!!

Hello, did any of you pay from Egypt, using an Egyptian visa card?
I tried to pay the fees just now and I have received the following error "Transaction has been declined. Please use a different method of payment or click cancel. Code(483)"
any idea what this means. My husband put the required amount on the card yesterday. How much exactly does $1040.00 translate to in Egyptian pounds (although it shouldn't matter, as there is plenty extra on the card).

Thank you.

Hi omo_lylah,
I paid my fees with a canadian card, sorry to hear that it's not working with your card. Did you try to contact the bank or the CIC Call Center?
Good luck!

ARRRG! I hate when they do this!!! They cannot remove this limit?? I guess with the situation in Egypt, it will be very difficult to find one. You really have no relative in Canada that could help? I will let you know if I have any idea to help you. Good luck!
