I think you should not write that if not mistaken UCI Universal Client IDsalyrm said:Does anyone know what does "UCI" stand for??
Yes, this is your client ID Number with CIC. If you never had one, it will be generated after you apply. However, if you ever dealt with the CIC, your client ID number does not change.salyrm said:Does anyone know what does "UCI" stand for??

If this is for the one who is sponsoring. They may have client is number before they apply for sponsoring. But this only correct if they had to deal with cic before as well. I.e. If the person who is sponsoring is a PR, his client is number will be on their PR card. That also holds if the person applied for a study permit or work permit with the cic. However if the person who is sponsoring is born in Canada and never had to deal with cic before. They are not likely to have client id number. And it will be generated once they Apply.
Like I said above, the person who is being sponsored is not likely to have a client is number if this is the first time for them to deal with cic. To sum it up, your client is number is generated first time u deal with cic and never changes.
Wish this helps
No, the file number starts with a letter, sometimes F, B, V depending on the type of the application. This file number is changes every time even the same person applies for any service with CIC. However, the UCI is different. It is a unique number for the person, everytime you apply you get the same number. however, if this is her first time to apply, it will be generated after the documents are complete. and as such, you may not need to provide any information as she does not have one.salyrm said:I got letter from CIC requesting additional info regarding me sponsoring my mother, and in that letter there is a file number, should that be the UCI for the IMM008 form at personal info section #3??
Also, for your information, the UCI is not mandatory on the form. Meaning that, you can fill in the form and validate it with the UCI blank if you do not have one.salyrm said:I got letter from CIC requesting additional info regarding me sponsoring my mother, and in that letter there is a file number, should that be the UCI for the IMM008 form at personal info section #3??
