Thanks its does feel great 6 months and about 20 days so seems they move pretty fast in the office now!

And nass I am not sure about the plane tickets because people say if you sent them a date and don't leave by the date you have the tickets for it can cause you trouble. Just explain in a letter you plan to book your tickets after you are accepted that's what we did. Explaining how we weren't sure of the date our visa would be issued so we are waiting to book tickets. And if you don't want your family to know maybe send letters from friends? Letters really are the best to describe your situation. It answers the officers question that may seem like an issue I think it is mostly just to show you have a plan and your not just arriving in Canada clueless!

I send the the letter and email today. how long did they reply back and how long does the passport take to receive it?
my online is still says In process no decision made why Is it normal? ;D ;D

We sent our letters/documents on June 22nd, & got a reply for a passport request on July 11th.
We sent out passport out on July 14th, which was a Thursday so it was the weekend at the office,
but today July 19th we got another email asking for new photos because the other ones we got weren't right.
Also our ecas says in progress still too, even though we have been approved! I guess it is normal


We went to a new photographer who didn't charge us for our photo because he isn't sure if it is right, we are currently visiting our THIRD photographer because apparently, it's SOOOO hard for a photographer to take a simple photo...and he photoshopped the picture to like a beauty face softer skin phone setting type of look !! Oh my...once you think the running around is finished Egypt strikes again LOL! Hopingggg one of the sets we got is ok

Also an odd thing they asked us to bring the photos to the visa office in person. Maybe they will just pass us the passport and papers while we are there? That was kind of odd I thought.

I hear you on the finding a good photographer here, not sure what is so hard when you have the exact measurements and explanation of how they want a picture. Although my husband has to translate it to the photographer. Fun stuff!!! Keep us updated on what happens next, so exciting!!!!

So we took the sets of photos we had taken to the embassy today because it said to take it in person on the email we recieved. The guy at the desk asked us why we were there we told him he said ok and asked us to give him the photos. So we explained that we have been to three photographers and werent sure if the sizes were correct. So he handed us the photo specification paper that we already had. We said yes we looked and it seems ok but we aren't 100% sure. He said looks ok to me. We passed him the envelope with the email printed and our photos in it and that was it... we left LOL! Could have sent it through DHL and stayed home. Also we still aren't 100% sure if the photos are right but they seem good! So hopefully the next email we get is to recieve a passport with the visa!

I did the Emedical exam June 16 2016 and I send it without they asking me and i received this email form (IMM 1017), of Medical Report - Client Biodata and Summary?
. I don't get it the medical are the same one or is different ? anyone knows? should I send it again?

Did you get a paper when you did your medical, we did our medical at a panel physician and got back a sheet of paper to send to the visa office, it had my husband's picture on it with his basic information. and some number on it so they could find the medical information sent by the doctor.
Does your ecas say medical received? Is this the first time you are sending your medical? Maybe they didn't receive it yet and decided to request it when yours was still in their mail?

I really have no idea, but maybe you could send the receipt of the medical being done?

Also, I was wondering what are all of you planning to do to exchange your Egyptian pounds to Canadian dollars. The exchange rates at some places are ridiculous and we are looking for better options!

Go to the one listed on the CIC website .. excuse my bad spelling, its called EL Arise.. For those of you who have been there... his studio is covered with really old pictures of famous Egyptians. He makes my daughters, and my passports, and never had a problem... and I am sure he knows what he is doing because when I said I want passport pictures, he said passport or citizenship, and explained how they are different in sizes...

Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I was wondering, did you go to the Angelo hospital, el borg? If so how much did the medical cost?

Yes, that's the hospital and I think it was around 600LE. My husband did it back in May and he doesn't remember the exact amount, lol, typical male (no offence other males, lol)

Outch lol 600 L.E ... there really isn't one thing cheap in this process.. they like to milk us for all we are worth lol!!

Plus the $1040 for the application, plus the 1300LE for FedEx, plus the days spent getting things from the government......it's a lot of work, nevermind the ink that you go thru when you print everything, plus the pictures......yes it is quite a process. I think if someone goes through all that trouble the least they can do is approve us, lol.

And sadly, a lot of people get refused lol... I am still trying to figure out how much it will cost to print I think around 50 pictures in one of those computer places lol.

We actually bought a printer/scanner off of Jumia for like 270LE, it comes with ink in it and it saved us from running around every time we realized we needed to print more papers or scan more documents. The ink is expensive if you run out, though. It seems like a lot to spend for one time of printing, but you always find out you need to print more or made a mistake and have to print something again so much easier when it is from home rather than paying out of pocket every time you need another paper scanned plus we use taxis to get around and that is another expense.

Also there is a website based in china it's called aliexpress we ordered ink refills. We just screwed a little hole in our ink cartridge and used a needle from the pharmacy to refill the original inks! It takes about 40ish days to get to Egypt so if you're still gathering documents and working on your application you can get it all ready to print while the ink comes! We paid 5 Canadian dollars for the three colored ink and a black in, we refilled out ink about 5 times and still have half a bottle of black and almost full of the colored inks. It saved us sooooo much money.

Just thought I'd share that could be easier for some people!
