my ecas says they started processing my husband PR application on 3/10 & medicals are received however they received the application in april

today is 24/10 is it going to take longer time ??? i wish to spend Christmas with him

I've started my process in 2010 and I still haven't heard anything
But others have been waiting for 5 months and they will be reunited within the next weeks...

oh !! so its one year or more ??? if its more than the average time which is 12 months ( cairo ) call the immigration here , what is the cause of delay ?? wish you all the best , i know its hard.

Good News

today the ottpilot sent me an email requesting my medical check as i didn't do it from the beginning when i started to fill my application, so they contacted me asking for it.
is there any one know what is the best place to do it in cairo as i know that there are 6 places in Egypt 4 of them in Cairo concerning the web site but do you recommend someone specifically?
i am asking that as i heard that some doctors are not sending yur medical right away to London or they being lazy about it ....so any recommendation will be appreciated

Dominique, we decided to fly out Friday the 11th. This day will be much easier for me to get to Toronto to pick him up. It is the same flight time, and he will arrive at 2:50 pm also. It's nice that he won't have such a long layover in Rome and no transit visa required from what I can find. My husband will be going to the Italian embassy in Alex to confirm for sure with them but I don't think he will need it. This was the cheapest flight I could find.

good news today finally..... as fresh prince my hubby recieved a letter from ottpilot wanting another medical because his expired just 4 days after they recieved his file so we knew this was coming but was hoping for an extension on it lol the immigration here told me on the phone they have been known to extend the expiry on a medical, oh well I think and pray this will be the last thing we have to do... christmas is looking good after all and this was just the pick me up we needed we was so extremely depressed. ;D

Can anyone tell me how long from the day medical was done until the immigration office recieved it. I'm curious about the time line after he does the medical.The first medical he done we never had his papers sent in yet to see how long it takes.Thanks

My husband went to see Dr. Eman Kamal MD in Cairo and everything went well

I just checked his medical paper and its expiring on the 28th of October

I know I am!!!

My husband was originally going to stay in Egypt for Eid, but has decided that we should spend our first Eid together. The ticket's bought and paid for. He arrives Saturday the 29th in Toronto. I have wrangled the weekend off, so we begin our lives together in 3 more sleeps!

I am so excited and yet not! It's like a dream. For all this long time saying "I love you and I miss you, we'll be together soon" and it's finally come around so fast (really remarkably fast if I might say so), that there is part of me that feels I am having some kind of wierd lucid dream!

I've been scurrying around after work each night readying our home for his arrival. I'm driving up to Toronto on Saturday but don't know whether to be on time to meet his flight. As I understand it, it can take a long time to clear customs and immigration.....

Do you have any idea?

The flight arrives at 5:40pm. What time would you be there for?

Hi Mels. My immigration lawyer told us that having the medicals in with the fle would actually help them in making a decision more quickly. I'm reading on here that this is not always the case. I am grateful because my husband's medicals expire in February. He got it done just before we finalized our file. The whole thing went in in March and was received by the processing center in Ottawa on the 19th of May 2011. (that's my mom's birthday, so I took it as a good sign). He did not get contacted for an interview or additional docments. He just got an email on the 12th of October saying to send his passport in for his visa.

Awaaaaaaaaaaaaaay we go!!

I really hope for all those couples still separated that your files are completed in time for you to spend the holidays together or sooner. I feel somewhat blessed and entirely grateful. I was so depressed and now I am on the brink of a new beginning. We have been married for 19 months and last saw each other just over a year ago. All told though, I can't complain -- from receipt of file to visa issuance was only 5 months. Elhamdulellah and I pray for every single one of you left to have your heart's desire as soon as is possible.

Mel, you will probably be asked to do another medical. I know it sucks. Would be nice if they move this part of the process until the end so people don't end up spending money needlessly.

Our medicals expire November 24th, so my husband has to land before or by that date. It's cutting it close for us.
