It's always been my (Canadian) address that's been referenced. I've always used my name to access the file (attempts to use my husband's name never worked).

Your still close though so keep things in a positive perspective. ;D He will be with you and your happily ever after will begin!! ( I know it's tough though, we are only waiting for the passport to be returned too and waiting and waiting....)

Thanks so much for your kind words. I went in person this morning to my MP and they are seeing what they can find out. Hopefully I will have some news within a couple of days!

Thanks for your reply. We had access to both from the very begining. Have you tried using the f********* (file number) with your husbands personal details? The sponsors goes with the UCI number. If you don't match them correctly you will not be able to log in.

I hope that you do find something out, and hey, keep me/us posted on how that goes. Perhaps a call to my MP might be in the near future too....

Good luck, and really: Stay positive, no matter how many bumps in the road, the destination is still getting closer. I believe anyone whose ever been to Egypt should be well aware of the speed bumps

Not sure where the "many" you know are from (which does play a role on them being able to). If you look at the posted link, you will see the rules have been changed for several countries, Egypt being one of them.

I checked my cease with my new UCI number one day after I get my passport ith visa. and it has been changed to my new address in Canada

Does anybody know if the strike is affecting the Cairo visa office? And if it does, Does it affect the passports being sent to the applicants too?

Also wondering the same thing... It states on the CIC website that there may be a delay, but they will be providing minimum level of service..

I'm guessing it will just take a bit longer now, than it would normally..

I talked to my lawyer about this, and this is what he said:

"I don’t know if the Cairo visa office staff are in strike. From my understanding it is rotating."

It's not super helpful, but at least we can *maybe* know that it might be affect things that much. If it is rotating than it won't necessarily last that long at each office either.

Cairo Embassy wasn't a part of this....yet. I am praying they don't ...

After reading the link above I understand that African Visa Offices have not joined this movement yet. Because I red from different Websites since June 11 I have not heard any African Embassy walking out of office yet. So relax my friend.
