Hello Friends

I am Egyptian married to Canadian, we applied for my visa on Sep 2016, they received the application in the middle of Sep, and started to process in the middle of Oct. Since then, the application is always "in process" on the online application status. We don't know anything! My husband is living there and I am still in Egypt. I don't know when the paper will be finished, we don't know any deadlines or anything!
Can anyone tell me the average time of the in process application "but without sending me the CIC link" because I mean people who went through this! Can you share your experience?

you should not ignore the information provided on the CIC (in a majority of the cases it's a true representation since those numbers are taken from official data).

assuming that you have completed your application without any errors. provided all the supporting documents and evidence of Marriage etc. it should take about 8 to 18 months time. (please note an accurate and strong supporting documentation is a key for shorter time frame and success). in case of spouse education, and income is not considered, but if you show good income, education and english language skills it would help you a lot.

Yes, I understand, but what I said about the CIC is because they never give any precise dates!
Also, I want to ask about thse things beside people's names here, because I don't understand this!

Under each category of sponsorship there are different miles stones, unfortunately those milestones are not identical in all the cases

For example you have quoted time line from my profile, and I am sponsoring my parents (father and mother), I have applied in 2011

App. Filed.......: 12-09-2011 I have initially applied to sponsor my parents in sep 2011
Doc's Request.: 26-10-2015 Canada Government stopped immigration for parents for few years and reopened the process, and asked to resubmit the application in 2015, this was requested to me in Oct 2015
AOR Received.: 24-02-2016 in Nov 2015 I have resubmitted my application but they acknowledged in Feb 2016.
File Transfer...: 07-07-2016 in July 2016, I have qualified Stage # 1 (sponsorship approval)
Med's Request: 20-12-2016 In Dec 2016, my parents were requested for under going medical tests
Med's Done....: 31-12-201 in Dec 2016 we have submitted medical reports

Please note these dates were updated by each and every individual to help others, they are not form CIC

Whey it come to information on CIC web site you would find only following few mile stones and don’t expect them to change every few weeks or months

a. Sponsorship / Application in Progress (i.e. Initial applicatin)
b. Sponsorship approved (decision made) (i.e. your Spouse is qualified to sponsor you)
c. After few weeks / months you will see Medical / Police clearance
d. After that you will see medical results received
e. Then I think PR approved and they will request you to submit your Pass port

But do note you would daily update on you file (in other words not much information will be available on the web site)

Seventeen years ago I have gone through what you are going, it was the same and now. But this time its much longer in my case as I am trying to sponsor my parents

Time line for sponsoring parents is worse when compared to spouse. Be prepared to wait for one to one and half year. Or plan to visit Canada on Visit visa

On this forum there are lot of people like you, try to find the right forum page, (i.e. Spouse sponsor ship and year in which you have applied) some thing like spouse sponsor ship in year 2016, you would find lot of people exchanging their status, form that you could determine your situation

Hope I have answered your questions

Thank you so much for the information. I think the situation is different because I already did the medical before we even apply! maybe they changed the the process. Anyway, Thanks a lot for your post :)
