It's not free. But it's only $5. :o)

isn't it $5 for people who live outside Canada?

I'm need clarification, please.

What are CAIPS notes? Notes made by visa officers which you need to prepare an appeal?

Which of the two websites cited above is the correct one to get CAIPS notes? Or are they both correct?

Are CAIPS notes available to people outside Canada (perhaps for a $5 fee) or only to those inside Canada? I suspect the former is correct (or it would be unjust to outsiders like me), but someone stated the latter.

Please help?

this is the main link to cic site.

Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System (CAIPS) is the computer system used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to process overseas visa applications at embassies and visa offices around the world. It is used for all visa applications, both for temporary and permanent residence applications. The counterpart to CAIPS within Canada is FOSS.

Address to send your CAIPS request:

Access to Information requests should be directed to:

Public Rights Administration Citizenship and Immigration Canada Narono Building 360 Laurier Avenue West, 10th floor Ottawa, Ontario K1A 1L1

Tel.: (613) 946-0953 Fax: (613) 957-6517

$5 fee is for Canadians living abroad. foreign nationals need to find somebody in Canada who can order these notes for them or pay to a Canadian company to do it for you.
