Hello yes you are absolutely right to become RECE in Ontario we need two years diploma in WES, I had bachelor in education and ncfe level 3 but in my individual assessment they said my b.ed is 2 years but does not have enough credits in early years where as they said cache level 3 came as just a semester so they didn't even consider it, I was very disheartened because if they considered both b.ed and cache and add both they would surely find all the needed credits, where as other provinces gave me ECE certificate based on this same qualification its just Ontario who's is not ready to consider both together, when I look for ECE diploma in colleges here, I see that I have all the courses already from b.ed and level 3 from the curriculum they teach here. I have submitted my wife's CACHE Level 3 Diploma to WES for evaluation, I should get some feedback in a couple more weeks. Currently she is also enrolled in Cache Level 5. I had done research, but there is not much available online for CACHE and Canada. From what I understand, each diploma should technically be equivalent to a 1 year Diploma in Canada, so not sure how much this may help on the CRS Scores. However, in regards to work in Canada.

1. In order to be a registered Early Years Educator in Canada, you need to be registered with the College of ECE
2. In order to be registered by the College of ECE, you need to have a Canadian certification or you can get an individual assessment
3. For the individual assessment, you need a minimum of 2 year Diploma in education to be qualified for the assessment, after which they will advise whether you need to do anything additional or not.

Have you guys gotten any more information yet? I will keep you posted when I hear back from WES.

I did the wes for cache level 3 it came as college level certificate( one semester )
Hello! Did you get it evaluated with the WES standard or the WES IRCC?
And what should my next steps be after getting my dipolmas evaluated? I’m not sure which province to send them to now, I heard SK only gives licenses if you are living in Canada now so that’s out of the way sadly.

What is your CRS score? What do you mean by SK licenses? NOC? PNPs are cut in half but if fluent in French you have chance.

hey thank you very much for the reply! i meant the Saskatchewan ECE license, i heard you can now only get it by applying while in canada. my score is low, i think its only about 420 so i was hoping to get PNP. and what do you mean by cut in half? sadly not fluent in french at all. NOC would be NOC 42202

PNP quotas have been cut in half so SK can nominate around 3600 vs 7200 from last year. SINP will be very selective in who they invite. SINP is based on SINP score and NOC selected so look at draw sheets. You get WES for immigration. You cannot get ECE certification until you work and live in the province so not an option.

hello, thank you for the information. I thought we would need to use the course-by-course WES (which is the standard one) can you confirm it isn’t that one please?

“You cannot get ECE certification until you work and live in the province so not an option.” is this only for SK or other provinces as well?

What is the benefit of certification if you don’t work in any province nor have a job offer. Is WES for EE/SINP then follow directions on WES site for immigration.

I was planning on getting the certification in order to be eligible to apply for jobs as an ECE in canada. I’m not quite knowledgeable about this (even after doing a lot of research recently). Would there be another way to go about this? Do let me know if i’m doing it incorrectly if it isn’t much of a hassle

So if you aren’t in Canada then you need to research each provincial certification body and see if you can get it without working in the province and with international education/experience. Getting certification is of no benefit without a work permit. You would have to find an employer willing to go through the LMIA process and prove no Canadian has the experience, education and language skills to do the job. Then you apply for a closed work permit.

Honestly, consider increasing EE score to possibly get nomination with a province that is inviting ECEs without a job offer and certification. Not sure there are any provinces. Or learn French to increase EE score.

Thank you again! I’ll definitely look into this, I was looking at the job bank and it seemed to have an ample amount of jobs for international candidates but I might’ve been mistake.

I’m not quite sure how to go about the process. I thought it would make sense to first get certified and then apply for jobs since the jobs us mention having an ECE certification in its requirements.

Do you know what terms to search for to potentially find more information on this?

So on Job Bank, if the job says approved LMIA then apply for the job. If it says willing to then apply. Again you need to look at provincial certification for a province. You may not be able to be certified outside Canada. Google - PNPs and do some research.
