What all should be carried in cabin luggage?????

if you mean hand carry luggage -- there is a certain limit on the quantity of perfume or other amenities you can carry onboard the aircraft with you.

Obviously, sharp objects, such as forks/knives etc won't be allowed.

If you want to know what you should carry with you in flight... I'd take my laptop, some chips/snacks, gum, mobile charger (seats have a plug where you can charge your appliance). Also, try and stay hydrated throughout the flight and avoid fizzy drinks or juices. It's important for the body at such high altitudes!

Cigarettes and lighter? I may want to smoke after a long flight

Most Canadian airports don't have smoking areas and smoking is not allowed anywhere within the airport. You should assume you won't be able to smoke until you have passed through immigration, picked up your luggage, and left the airport.

I'm not sure about lighter (not a smoker) but there is a liquid quantity limit for inflammable objects. I doubt they will confiscate it but you can't smoke during the flight anyway

As for smoking at the airport, I'm not sure about the country you are from but here there are specific areas you can smoke in the airport.

Yes our airport in New Delhi has a smoking lounge
