Hey guys,

I have a quick question. What is a general duration if our work permit is approved? I mean do they approve us for 1 more year? also, can you renew your BOWP if you are sill waiting for PPR?

I need to appy for BOWP soon and my passport will expire in June 2016. Are they only going to approve me until my passport expire?

Please advice..

Better to get your passport renew first as per my knowledge they doesn't issue more than the duration of your passport.

If your passport is valid for less than a year, they will issue it until the end of your passport. This is why I had to apply for a second one now with my new passport.

I have applied on July 17 may be i will also get the same this week.

so BWOP is for one year only or more. I want it should be more than 1 year at least. Anyone got it for 1+ year.

BWOP is for 1 year only for CEC pre 2015 applications. I am not sure about other stream and how it works.

Hi, could you tell me if got approved, how they notify you, by email? Or log into GCkey account? Thank you very much.
And do you know how to check the bowp processing time because it has with same employer and with new employer..

you should get email ...sayin approved or status update. than you can login to cic and check ...

I received "ghost email" said there is update on the application but nothing update actually.. I check the processing time, for online application, they process on July app. I applied on Aug 25.. Thank you for your information.

Weird. I've applied a day after you and got approved email on Friday and BOWP in mail today.

How come I receive nothing but ghost email.. How does it show on your MyCIC accounts? Mine shows submitted, and if I click in, it says a final decision has been reached: not start..
What does your email say when it got approved..?

August 26th - filed the application online
September 26th - 1st "ghost email" ("Your application(Wxxxxxxxxx) has been updated")
October 26th - 2nd "ghost email" ("Your application(Wxxxxxxxxx) has been updated")
November 4th - 3rd "ghost email" ("Your application(Wxxxxxxxxx) has been updated")
November 12th - 4th "ghost email" ("Your application(Wxxxxxxxxx) has been updated")
November 13th - approved email ("You have a new message in your MyCIC account for application")

and when I logged in to MyCIC application was listed as complete or closed, I don't remember now, and there was a message with a PDF stating my bowp has been approved, document number, that it has been mailed to me etc. The date on the PDF document and on BOWP is the same as last "ghost email".
