Buying a car in the U.S.

Do you think that buying a car in U.S. is better than buing a car in Canada? Will it make any difference for your status? Also, what about the model? What is more popular where? I head that Ford or Honda will be good. But I am open to any new ideas and/or suggestions, guys, Thanks a lot in advance.

In fact my plans changed last week. I got fired from my job and now for all the proceccess I initiated I will need a different thing. The car purchase I can no longer afford.
