Hi All,

I have applied under SDS category for a course in Business management at Fanshawe for May22 intake. I am a BSc-IT graduate with an experience of 6 years in Wipro in the area of Workforce and Operations management. My current designation is that of an Assistant Manager. Will there be an issue with regards to irrelevant course being selected for visa processing?

Business is usually interdisciplinary so anyone with any kind of background can enter a business program. However, I am not sure what kind of "course" do you mention at Fanshawe because diplomas are basically less valuable then a BSc, especially a Diploma in Business. You should go with a MBA or MSc because those degrees show a clear carrier progression in your case. It doesn't mean that you dont have any chance for visa approval, it simply means that it may require more explanations and it is riskier.

It makes sense generally but not to the criteria of IRCC processing

The reason behind choosing this program is it being a 2 year PG certificate and the course structure is quite similar to that of an MBA. Yes, I did consider MBA but it was expensive and my scores weren't sufficient to grab a seat in a good University. I hope I'm able to establish a link between BSc IT, my experience and the new course I have taken!!
