Hi all,

I feel it is too hard to stay apart from my husband for the remaining 10 months of our application process (which is a total of 28 months). Now the thing is that I work and obviously, I will not be able to take that long of a leave or vacation. I am going to quit my job, go back to my home country where my hubby works for the remaining time of our process.

I wanted to ask all of you, especially senior members, should I be anticipating any kind of problems with the process if I go there for such a long period of time? Also, since I will no longer be employed, will that create a problem as far as the process is concerned? (No problem when we come back, I have my parents here and me and my hubby will eventually get a job and all but we will have family support in the beginning so I will not be going for social assistance or anything)? My parents will be here to receive any mail...but do you think I should alert CIC before going, I mean is there ever an instance where they would need to see me here in Canada? I don't want to leave anything undone or incomplete, that's all. Thanks in advance.

If you are a Canadian citizen then you can go ahead and stay with your husband for the remainder of the processing time. Since stage 1 is already approved, i dont think they will need you to be in Canada. If you are a PR then the application can be rejected if you stay outside of Canada for more than 2-3 weeks at a time. All the best!
