Hi All,

I've applied for PR in Feb 2010. Got medical request in Jan 2012. Sent the medicals and additional docs requested in March 2012.
Now I was requested for PCC, FBI records again. So now I've sent it yday. Any idea now how long its gonna take for PPR?
Also how long its taking after sending passport? I've some travel plans in Aug so I need passport to travel at that time. Is there a way that we can go to some office in US where they can stamp maple leaf on PP?
Our application was with buffalo VO and now with Ottawa office :(

I was asked to submit passport to CPP-O and my passport is with them since last 4 weeks (one month). Normally it takes 4-6 weeks to return PP via normal Canada post in partnership with USPS. (If you are in US, they will not use any return courier service, no way to track PP like you get to do if you are within Canada).

Guys don't worry, nothing much you can do.

Here's my story one more time:
I applied on May 2010. Got 1st AOR on Nov 2010 and submitted docs to Buffalo Dec 2010 including FBI PCC (Since I was in US before Canada).
No response for about 6 months, till I got my 2nd AOR from Buffalo on May 2011.
Then again waited patiently for 11 months, when I saw my file got in Process with started review on April 2012.
In mid june 2012, Buffalo closed and file got transfered. Buffalo was replaced with Ottawa in Ecas in July 2012
Then again waited patiently to get MR and updated forms for another 8 months on Dec 2012.

After med completion on Dec, on Jan 22, 2013 I was asked for updated PCC from the current state in US where I reside (since I left Canada to come back US again) and submitted it on Feb 8, 2013.

Then Feb 12, 2013 my ecas started showing Medical Received.
On Feb 14,2013 I called CIC and they said they will call me back. A lady called back from their Montreal (Prob the call center is out there) office saying my med got extended to Feb 2014 and my b/c chk has been initiated in Feb and normally it takes 2 months and advised me to wait till that time.

I reached out to CPP-O my email on Mar 21, 2013 and almost immediately (Gee, it was really prompt) they responded
"Your file has been forwarded to the officer for final review. Once their decision has been made, they will be in touch with you with the next steps of the immigration process."

On April 11, 2013 I got RPRF + updated bank statement request.

On May 8, 2013, I got my PPR+ photo+ bio-data form request.

Hi bongcan

You have mentioned that you called CIC.
Can you give me some information about that because my timeline looks to be same like you but I am FSW1 category applicant.
Do they have specifc number to call which will give us better understanding about our file and where we stand in terms of PR visa.
I have checked all their websites to get the number to call them but was not successfull. Can you please give me the number to call, so that I can try calling them.
I got my medicals on 30 Apr 2013 and my medical reports were send to Ottawa on May 14, 2013. I have never heard anything from them till date.
Just curious to know what is going on with my file.I have applied from US.

Anuj,
Unfortunately, it sometimes doesn't work . You can still try:

Btuser/Anuj,
Else, if you have friend/family within Canada, ask them to call and patch you.

Thanks for replying me. I am not sure when I'll get my PPR. I hope I receive it soon as they are asking docs to me 1 by 1 and unnecessarily its taking time. Like in march they asked for all updated forms, bank stmts, FBI, resume and I sent them in April and then in May they asked for PCC from 2 diff countries again which took 1 month time... Have they asked for all things together.. my time would have been saved...
Hopefully now there is no BFD and they sent PPR soon...

I am a May 2010 applicant, submitted everything including landing fees, medical last summer. The status is always "In Process" , I do not know what to do ? Any suggestion ?

my suggestion is:
Relax and wait

for me it took 11 months from meds to ppr with no update on my ecas

now there is a cic employees strike so it can be longer

Hello guys,

Is CPP-OTTAWA also being affected by Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) strikes? Any clues??

I think all of the natural and man-made forces of the universe are working together to stop CIC from processing our FSW applications! Damn maan.....Shutting down Buffalo easily added 1 year to our waiting time. Now a strike. :(

You ve said it all. FSW is not advisable for someone that has the options of other categories. In spite of the closure of Buffalo, other categories are moving fast, even faster than in the past.

Could not be worse than this, could it ???? We have been damned ........

After one month of PP submission, I got back my PP and COPR and forwarding instructions back from CPP-O.
