It is so frustrating. My OPT has finished last month. And now i have to take admission in school again for maintaining the status and hang in here for nothing. i am so confused. it seems like wasting time and money,,, just waiting for PPr.. It has been now 8 months after my medical has been submitted. it really sucks... Can't think of the future.

You can apply for visitor permit in order to maintain the status!!!! You dont need to go to school unless You want it!!! I have been in Visitor permit Status for 11 months now!!!!You apply for visa extension and request for Visitor Permit. Then you will provide them with your file number while you apply for extension.

if i ll get ppr next month or in few days , is their any way i can get vistor visa for canada to get visa stamp
coz by post its illegel to send passport outside india , and i dont have any kind of visa nither for usa also
so i ill send my passport to detroit or ottawa plz give me suggestion
and i dont know now any one who is going to canada or usa soon

yes RAM you will get it visitor visa... i did the same , i was in india when i got my PPR. i requested to Chandigarh consulate and got my visa and send my passport to windsor PO box from canada. so don;t worry

no ram i m in canada now... and i am pretty sure once you show them your PPR request Email they will allow you to enter canada and send your passport to detroit frm canada by mail. get ready and fill that visitor form and try to fulfill that requirements. and i strongly recommend you to visit consulate personally instead of applying by VFS office. i did the same. if you want to knw anything else then please don;t be hesitate.

I just received the below response from CIC Ottawa regarding my inquiry email back in OCT 2010.
So frustrating!!!
Ottawa reviews applications in the order they were received (who knows what was the ORDER of the transfers from Buffalo to Ottawa).
However, I am pretty sure that was not the chronological order of the applications.


"Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your email (see below).

Your application has been received from the Buffalo office, and is in queue for review by an officer of CIC. An exact review schedule is not yet available. However, all applications are reviewed in the order in which they were received.

No action is required by you at this time.

Once the file has been reviewed, we will communicate with you to advise of any further action or documents required.

We thank you for your patience.

Hi Ram not really any specific requirements except that PPR e mail. but you have to show your bank balance, when you click on document checklist you can figure out what you need along with your PPR e mail. and pay RS 3975(DD) for single entry.ot might be it change, check fee format.
