Here are my stats from the cic website for the FSW category:

We received your application for permanent residence on February 19, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on April 9, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Buffalo office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the Buffalo office on April 14, 2010. The Buffalo office may contact you.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on December 8, 2011.

If you are an applicant with a file being processed by this office:
We will contact you with further information once your file has been processed. Due to the high volume of correspondence received, we are unable to provide a status update to you at this time.
No further action is required by you at this time. We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.
For future reference, in all correspondence to our office, please refer to the applicant's full name, date of birth, file number and your client ID number.

every one who got transfer file to ottawa is submiting file to passport to detroit

No Man How Can I get such request?

Once the buffalo office wrote me that all file been moved to Ottawa because of closure. In response of my email from Ottawa, they mention that they donot know my file and asking further detail. Just frustrating.

I checked you can only call CIC call centre if you are within Canada. I noticed there are some people on the forum wrote to different consulates in the US. Maybe you can try that. Nowadays, you never know which office is better... Anyway, good luck pal!

No point to write Newyork because Buffalo wrote me that they moved our all files to Ottawa. I must deserved to ask Ottawa whereabout my file. We have paid enough money to get reply for this. I have already asked. lets see

Hi all
I am also not sure where my file is. I contacted Newyork and Buffalo and they sent a standard reply saying that all are transferred to Ottawa.

I sent a mail to Ottawa and Detroit and got no reply from them so far. I am not sure how long they take to reply

Friends I guess we may hear the loss/ misplaced of our file in near future. Getting PPR is far to reach- my personal guess only and not to make heart attack/panic to any one. Even I do not know where to complain in that case because I have personally filed not with agent. frustrated

Got email reply from buffalo that they don't have my information and have asked my further details. I have earlier sent my file number/ name everything to them but why they reply like this, I donot understand. Please, everybody make sure that your file is in Ottawa after transfer and not missing.

Calm down Jeevan!It happened to me ass well.You have to include your file number and date of birth in every email you send to Ottawa!They do not keep your details from previous emails.Your file is not lost.This is how you start every email:

I am the applicant
Name:
Subject: Permanent Residence
Date of birth:
Inquiry type: Skilled Worker Immigration
File number:

I completely agree with William..Furthermore what does your eCAS status say?

If your eCAS contains the line " You application has reached CIC-Pilot Ottawa Office.They are pending review."In that case you file is with Ottawa for certain..If not then send an email to Ottawa Office with the details mentioned by William.
