What Are 'CAIPS', 'FOSS' and 'GCMS' Files?

CAIPS is short for 'Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System'. It is the computer system historically used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to process visa applications, and holds all the information on the current status of every immigration application being processed by overseas offices (i.e. those outside of Canada), other than new applications at offices which have switched to using the 'GCMS' system.

FOSS is the computer system historically used by CIC offices in Canada to track all immigration-related information, but like the CAIPS system is being superceded by GCMS.

GCMS is short for 'Global Case Management System', and is a newer computer system that CIC are rolling out across their offices.

just send them a email they will get back to you

yesterday I emailed My MP telling my story and few hours later one of his assistants mailed me back a form to authorize them to look in to my file
i filled it out and I just waiting hopefully Ill get news back from them by the en end of next week

who ever applied from Canada while your work or study? do you need to send them Police certificate from Canada too?
or should we wait for immigration to ask for the same?

I live in Canada and Applied from here
They wiill request the RCMP clearance if they think its necesary

My case was also moved to Ottawa from Buffalo. I got an email with Medicals this week )) I have a question though, we have a newborn though. Should we do the medicals or wait until he is added to the application? Thanks
