BUFFALO Transfer Files To Other Visa Office In US

I got my stamping already on Apr-13,2012.

Hi Guys,
I received a letter from Detroit visa office last week. Had a few questions for seniors -
1. Got a letter from the canadian office Detroit. They requested the right to permanent residence fee USD 490. I have applied for me and my wife for canadian PR. My question is i have to submit just USD 490 or USD 980 ?
2. Does any one know how long it takes to get FBI clearance in the US ? If yes what is the best way to get it done ?
3. How long does it take to get the PCC from the Indian embassy at Washington DC ?
4. How should i pay the fee to the visa office by a check or by credit card ?
5. Once i receive the PCC's do i have to send them to the Detroit office address or to the address where the medicals have been requested to be sent ?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

I just wanted to suggest two things ...............

For question 2) above. It is taking 8 weeks it seems nowadays to get the FBI. I had sent an email requesting them if i could expedite the process and they replied asking me to wait for 8 weeks.

For question 3) above. Be very careful when dealing with Indian Embassy (does not matter which city). I had applied for a PCC and they lost mine and my wife's passports. When i contacted them after waiting for couple months they never replied. Upon continuously bugging them by phone calls and emails etc they got back to me saying that my PCC is in process and finally they said they never received my passport. I then contacted USPS to get the signature of the person who had received my passports. I also sent my friend as i was in a different state.They didn't let him in the embassy a couple of times . Then i said enough is enough and took all the correspondence between me and the embassy along with the delivery proof personally to the Indian Embassy and the moment they saw me the said the whole story and said it was they who lost the passports (as the receive tons of passports on a daily basis) and offered to give me new passports. I had no other option but to take them. Because of all this i lost more than 3 months. I suggest you personally take your passports and talk to them. Lets hope for the best.

I got my medical request and along with it they have requested for FBI and PCC from India.

Any idea how much time FBI is taking these days and what is the process for Indian PCC. I have 90 days to submit these docs

It is taking 8 weeks nowadays to get the FBI. I had sent an email requesting them if i could expedite the process and they replied asking me to wait for 8 weeks.

You can let them know that you have applied for the FBI and will send them the reports as soon as you do. That's how i did as that's what many people suggested.

I m afraid, Buffalo did any processing.

I am sure LA VO will start processing it fairly quickly.

It's a good idea to apply for GCMS and see whats happening with your case.

First of all Thanks for your guidance...
Finally I got Visa Stamping and same day I crossed Border from Detroit to Windsor via Tunnel...

I went to Detroit office at 10:30 am and I got my passports with stamping at 11:30.

Then I crossed border form tunnel by Bus... Canada Immigration took only 30 min... by next bus I reached to Detroit...

Hi rafaelgabbie, I am in the same boat too. My file was transferred from Buffalo to Detroit last week and it is saying the same pending review from last 2 years. Are u planning to order caips notes, I am thinking the same.

I emailed NY office and they say that it has to be processed via mail. Never mind. Another week or two i guess??

My file was transferred to Detroit office last October.

Got Medicals and done by last week of December.

Got a query to resubmit my FBI clearance by end of January and submitted by mid of March.

Got CPR mail on 24th April.

I visited to Detroit office and got the CPR (and my transcripts only - not the Original experience letters and Police clearance letters) today.
