Is there anyone whose file got transferred to Seattle office after jan 2012 ?

Mine got transferred at the end of January 2012. The 26th to be exact. When did yours get transferred?

Hi Guys,

I received the Passport on Friday last week. It took Detroit VO less than a week....They are fast....

I sent the passport on March 14, VO received on March 15, VO stamped the visa on March 20, VO mailed the passport back on March 21 and I received that on March 23. Total time, including mailing, is only 7 business days. ECAS is still saying "In Progress".

Finally everything is done. It took us 2 years 1 month and 10 days from start to end. We are planning to land in Dec at Christmas time. Hopefully it will be no hassles in Manitoba border. Please share experience if anyone has landed from North Dakota to Manitoba through Manitoba/North Dakota border.

Thank you all for all the advise/suggestions/experience share. Please feel free to ask me anything that I can help with, I will try my best.

Good Luck everyone.

2 years is not that long actually. I think my file got approved fairly quickly, it is almost minimum 2 years now, and on average 2 years 4 months from start to finish. At least that what it seems like for the people who submitted their application from around Nov 09 through May 10. After June 10, CIS changed the system, and it got little faster, I do not know how much though.

Following is my time line for your reference.

Applied CIO, NS on Fab 10, 2010.
CIO, NS sent the file to Buffalo on April 14, 2010 and asked me to submit papers by 120 days of April 15.
I submitted all the documents on July 31, 2010.
I received 2nd AOR in November 2010.
They transferred my file to Detroit on Nov 8, 2011.
Detroit VO started processing on Dec 21, 2011.
I received MR on Jan 20, 2011. I did the MR on Jan 28, 2011.
I received PPR on Feb 24, 2011. I sent PP on March 15. Received PP back from Detroit on Mar 23, 2011.

It was tough from 2nd AOR till file transfer to Detroit VO, around 1 year. There was nothing but waiting, since there were no communication from them. But after file transfer, it seemed much better. At least they sent updates of what is happening, and things were moving quicker. Again, I was lucky that file got transferred to Detroit. I think Detroit VO is faster than others.

Do not worry too much about the time, it will fly by. You will see, before you know, you are approved and living in Canada.

Just do not give up, work with VO, submit the papers on time and make sure they are all correct in the first time submission and hope for the best. It will come to you. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Good Luck...

Thanks for your nice words ;) I am just soo impatient right now. I was waiting for a while for AEO and it took months. I'm hoping that my file is going to be transferred right away.

My pleasure.

I hear you say "soo impatient". You must be pretty young in age. You will learn to be patient pretty soon my friend. Turns of life makes all of us to learn how to be patient. In life 50% of things are out of your control, at least that seemed to happened to me. You just have to accept the fact, then work hard and pray for the best. No one can deny you the success...

piscespao,

I am a post June 2010 applicant. I am a moderator of the two tracking sheets below my signature. Anyways, Just wanted to let you know that current timelines are almost two years at Buffalo (it is the slowest VO of all) regardless of the promise for post june applicants to be processed in less than a year.

Hello Everyone:

Has anyone figured why some applications are sent to other VOs and some are kept at Buffalo?
I mean, is there a system to it, or they just randomly send some to NY, LA, and Detroit, while keeping some in Buffalo... Any guesses?

Thanks,
Cam

Cam1234,

I was an August-2009 applicant and my file got transferred to Detroit in Oct-2011.
I waited for more than 2 years just to get some attention on my case.

So here is my guess !!

Files applied after June 2008 and before June 2010 are processed on priority and are transferred to local offices close to where applicant lives ! Mine got transferred to Detroit and my friend's got to LA.

What I do not understand it, why Buffalo still holds some !

My two cents !!!

May be completely wrong !!
