Finallyyyyyy after a wait of about 30 odd months....I got the PPR...they gave us 60 days time...

Samnov, It's the same officer for both of us and now, I am quite confident that your PPR is also around the corner....

Experts, I have a question now...CIC told us in the e-mail that they can print our visas at a different office, if required...how long do you think it will take if i opt that? because I was living in US when I had applied but now I am back in India...so want guidance and suggestion from you people....I already have US visitor visa, but if I can get it printed in New Delhi within no time then I would like to do that....

Thank you all for your help throughout this time...and I will keep you posted regarding my travel plans and etc...

Sarat
Congrats Sarat. Samnov, you will be next!

Cam, I'm happy you got a response at long last. Must be a huge relief. :)

Hi Alwayspositive, good to hear from you again... Yes it is a huge relief that they have at least contacted me... I think I aged a decade in this past three months :P ;D

All is well that ends well, let's hope we all see the end soon :)

Hi Samnov,

I sent all the requested docs by CIC back in December 2013 and no update since.
Got a new GCMS last week, nothing new!
Contacted MP about the issue. One week later I got a call from the MP's office. They told me CIC is waiting for the background check results and that at this point it is not possible to estimate how long it would take.

Salem10 and cam1234,

The gold and silver medals of patience go to you guys.
This is frustrating, CIC does not care about so much anxiety and nervousness this long wait and lack of proper notifications could cause in the lives of the PR applicants.
But there is nothing that can be done, except waiting....
Hopefully we will all be rewarded for such great patience.

I just got my passport and COPR back. But there's a mistake in the COPR! It lists my marital status as "married". I am single. It was their mistake, it says single on all of the documents I sent. Do I send it back for a correction? I am afraid they will take a long time if I send it back. Will the people at the border care about this mistake?

Thank you!

Hello mblj,

a friend of mine had a similar situation. she was married but her marital status was marked as "single". She notified CIC and they asked her to send the passport back for correction.
I would recommend that you send an email to or call CIC and let them know about their mistake and ask them for advice. It is safer this way. It might take you longer but will possibly save you from more headaches in the future.
