Hi Samnov:

I just read your timeline... you did your medicals a year ago and they still have not contacted you :o It's amazing what most of us have to go through...

I have two years since I did my medical :o (CIC request my medical in April 14, 2012) and 4 years since I sent my application. Is this fair and equal treatment?

Salem, I am so sorry to hear of your wait time. No, it is not fair. 90% of those who applied with me in post June 2010 got their visa in 8 months... I am still here. Forget the fairness, because we can't change anything... we should just celebrate when it's over... and it will be over, hopefully soon for you, me and everyone here... it's a matter of time.

Take care my friend,
Cam

Received stamped passports and COPR's after a lot of drama

My attorney in canada was supposed to receive it on May 01. They didnt receive it. However CanadaPost is firm it delivered.

After 5 insane and worrisome days we got to know that they misplaced our package in another PO.BOX. Thankfully no one opened that BOX until the post guy and my attorney checked it on Tue 06.

Thank God.

Attorney posted it to me and I received it yesterday.

Guys if anyone has not received packages by CanadaPost ask the guy to check all the boxes in the building you live in.It looks like this has happened to several customers when I checked online.

Good luck to all those who are awaiting PPR's. I pray your turn comes soon.

Thanks Samnov. I can empathise with Cam.It really is a horrible situation to be in. My package had 3 passports and COPR's. Terrifying to say the least.

My husband and I have been following this thread for few months and this has been so helpful to us.

We applied for FSW at Buffalo in Sep 2011, Meds requested and done in Dec 2013 . Our latest Online status is "Meds received".

In mid april this year we got an email asking us to send an Updated IMM0008 “Generic Application Form For Canada” within 15 days which we did promptly.

Did anyone else get a similar enquiry, not sure what this means?

Hi there,

I am not sure if you already got the answer for your query. However, I have been asked for the same documents update with bank statement as well. I assume b'cs our file has been submitted long time ago, and they want to make sure if any circumstances has been changed like marital status, new family members or so on. So its positive thing they asked for it, it means your file is now being processed and case officer has been assigned. Also, get ready to get your passport request within a month.

So all the best again, your journey of PR is about to come to an end.

Hi All,

Just checking if any one of you recently sent passports to Ottawa and how many days it took to get it back with the stamps.

I sent last week from US, and it reached Ottawa office on Tuesday April 29th. I was just checking Canadian Experience Class forums some of the folks have got back their passports within 5-8 days.

I need to go back to India in next 2 weeks, I am freaking out....

So guys please do share your experience
Hi There,

Usually after submitting your passport it takes around 2 weeks to get back in Canada. I am not sure about US, but seems like you are going to have your PP by next week.

Good luck

Hello Samnov,

Looks like a few of 2010-2011 FSW1 applicants are still waiting. Almost all the people I know with similar timeline as mine, have already landed. I ordered GCMS a month ago but it hasn't arrived yet. The last couple of times it arrived 1-2 days before 1 month, but this time, still no sign.
I am hopeful they are thinking: "This guy has applied for GCMS a lot, let's give him his PPR" ;D

Hi Shinbukan, that's what I'm thinking of. What did you GCMS showed last time. Do we stuck by background check or why it takes so long to make a decision?
Wish you and everyone still in this forum good luck.

Looks like I'm stuck in the background check.
The previous GCMS says I meet the eligibility criteria and that no interview is required.
I wonder why the background check has taken so long.
I hope I get PPR instead of GCMS this time.

Hello all! Thank God we landed successfully today at the Ambassador Bridge. However, something strange happened when they were giving us back our passports. The officer stapled our COPR to our passports. Another officer said that we could not leave Canada with our COPR, that Canada wouldn't let us leave without our PR cards. Huh? Now I was just thinking he misspoke so I asked for clarification and asked, do you mean we can't get back in without our PR cards? And he said "no you can't leave, Canada won't let you leave without PR card. If you want to leave on the passport and copr you have to fly out of USA." He was very polite and I already knew that you can't come back into Canada with COPR from air after landing. But I have never heard that you can't leave. I think he just misspoke or wasn't sure/didn't know you can get a travel document to fly back home to Canada if you haven't received your PR card. My husband is due to leave Canada later on this week. I'm sure he can leave, I'm just a little nervous now with what he said. Any feedback?
