vidanueva,
consider the pros and cons of each option in terms of your family, career, personal comfort, depending on the weight you give each of these and the pros and cons in terms of being in the US vrs Canada, you may be able to arrive at a decision. Most often the answer lies deep within us. What does your gut feeling tell you? When you think of each option, which of them gives you the most peace? Once you are able to provide answers to these, you would have made your decision.

Vidanueva,

What Alwayspositive has provided above is very important. Given that you are both RNs, my experience tells me that there is good income in the family at this time in the US. Your wanting to immigrate to Canada is therefore based on other motivating factors as you mentioned before. Besides the secrets hidden deep inside us, I would rather be in the US than relocate elsewhere, just to say the least.
As the name suggests, Alwayspositive has always been positive and many times almost always right. Follow your guts- what will make you happy!

Beside that things are more costly in Canada and than in the US; you will be shocked to see items been sold for about 25% more in Canada than in the US by the same stores. Also, the earning rate in the US is higher than in Canada for the same qualifications. But as an RN, you will both hit the ground running in Canada...but I will advise you to immigrate in stages so that you can complete your qualifying exams (if any) and the mandatory board exam before letting go of your jobs in the US. Just my 3 pesos!

And for all our forumites, the key to successful immigration is to do one's research very well. I have been living in Alberta for almost 5 years and I see people moving from other provinces to Alberta to pick up job. Whereas I have never seen anyone moving from Alberta to other provinces to search for job. The unemployment rate in Alberta is 4% and Sask is about the same.

Thanks piscespao, wolvy and zazu!

Urs PPR is on the way, u will get it this week.

I'm happy and so delighted that so many active members of this forum have either received DM and waiting for PR or have received PR and waiting for stamped passports. Sometimes we lose count as to who is where and forget to sent a congratulatory note (years back, we used to call it a success card!). Some of us are still waiting for the 'wedding announcement'. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those that have reached the finish line and now planning how to begin a new life. I believe that in spite of the long waiting we have endured, we will all be delivered to our desired destinations. Great leaders are those that have persevered and endured hardship. For instance, Nelson Mandela had to wait for 27 years before being released and became a President. All along he had hope. And many of us have had the same , though on a lower level when compared.
Let everyone be prepared for a Mass Wedding that we are about to announce soon. I will ever be indebted to all those that have always been an an inspiration to me and others in one way or another. Your pieces of advice is limitless and priceless. Consultation has always been free, yet the advice is more valuable than what the attorneys give. For that, I say, live long the forumites and never leave anybody behind even after achieving our intended goals.
