cam1234,

As stated by many applicants on this forum, seems like CIC does not process the applications in chronological order.
I've got friends who applied later than me but received communications from CIC a month earlier than I did.
But I feel CIC is trying to finish the FSW1 applications this year.
So I am very positive you will be contacted soon.

Thank you for your support and prediction, I submitted my application 9/2010, so it has been a loooong time. Hope everyone here, gets this procedure over with so we can move to the next chapter of our lives.

Best of luck,
Cam

Hi String 11,

I am in USA and changed my address couple of time since my application was filed.

I informed cic about the change Uin address via email and it takes about a week or 2 for your new address to appear on your ecase.

You will also get an email from cic stating your address has been updated on file.

Hi Everyone,

My visa came on 24th and I am driving to peace bridge to land tomorrow. I was wondering if there is anything else other than my passport, CPR form and study permit I should take with myself. I am a grad student and I have been in Canada for a few years already.

Thanks.

Proof of funds, just in case :)

Hello Guys,
My name is Lawis. I just got med request from Ottawa through my representative on October 24, 2013. I had just sent a cancellation of rep request to Ottawa on Sept 26, 2013 but I figured that they did not received since I attached many forms to the email. I resent the request again and got an automated response from Ottawa after I got the email from my rep about the med request. My representative is holding my meds request until I pay a balance of fees.

My question is, I want to know if Ottawa will resend the med request to me directly if they effect the cancellation of the representative I have just requested? I told my representative in August 2013 that I will cancel them when they asked me to pay $50 before they could request CAIPS on my behalf after I have paid them 1st and 2nd fees amounting to about $2,000. They do nothing and even cause delays of my documents getting to Ottawa. They could not even find a parcel of documents I had mailed to them when it was duly signed and received by an officer with a name in the office as I had sent it through FedEx. I got fed up with them just doing forwarding mails fro me. I completed all the forms myself.

My timeline: I submitted my application on May 30, 2011 and it was received and first AOR received on July 29, 2011. I got a second AOR in Sept 2011. Since then I did not hear anything and my ecas has been "Receive by Visa Office.

Please advise as I have already scheduled medicals appointment in mid November with the hope I will get the med request resent to me from Ottawa directly.
Thanks

Lawis, call medical office where you schedule an appointment and ask them to find your case in their system by your UCI or Application number. If they will see you in the system, you don't need to have those forms from CIC. If they don't see you in their (e-Med) system, call another office and ask for the same. When CIC sending you forms, they create file for you in their e-Med system with all the data that doctor needs.

In a week or two, send an email to CIC to confirm that they received your email regarding cancelation of the representative.

You don't need to bother yourself asking Ottawa to re-send medicals to you, just schedule an appointment and tell the doctor to find you on e-med with your UCI. Please look for a doctor on eMed as it will save you a lot of stress and time. Goodluck :) :) :)

Hello Alexalex and Com2canada,
I am very grateful for your responses. Very informative and relieving. However, I do not know the UCI for my child who was born about a year ago and was duly added to my application around the same time he was born. I requested CAIPS before adding the child so I have the UCIs for me and my wife. When I called the doctor's office, they actually requested the UCI numbers so that they could get our records ready on emedicals but I do not have that of the child at hand right now. I asked if they could use my application number to pull the record and they said no. Any ideas?
Thanks very much

I suspect if you go for your med appointment they will be able to pull up your child's form, your child's UCI is linked to yours. I therefore suggest you still go ahead and talk to them. Meanwhile, send CIC an email ASAP forwarding the acknowledgement you got from them in August as proof when you emailed informing them you were getting rid of your representative. Let them know correspondence is still being sent to someone who is no longer representing you. Ask that they resend you medical forms. Even if they don't send the forms, I'm sure the doctor's office can pull up all the three forms. In your case, your representative only served as your mailman since you completed the forms yourself - waste of money. Good thing you fired him.

All the best

in my case it took 1 (one) day to update it. The very next morning I got an e-mail saying that they updated my file. Right away I checked my ecas and my home address in USA appeared instead of my lawyer's in Montreal. I also requested my GCMS file and the update was there too with notes from the officer and "copy and paste" request from my email.
This happened in February 2013.
