Hi, guys, I received the email from CPP-ottawwa that they ask me updated documents. Basically, I am a May 2010 applicant and submitted all the docs including medical and landing fees in last summer. I noticed that one of the forms asks for IELTS record, but I submitted Toefl and GRE instead of IELTS 3 years ago. So I am not sure if I need do IELTS. And they are not evaluating me , right ?

· Updated IMM0008 “Generic Application Form For Canada”

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008ENU_2D.pdf

· Updated IMM5669 “Schedule A” for yourself

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5669E.PDF

· Updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” for yourself

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5406E.pdf

· Updated “Schedule 3” for yourself http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm0008_3e.pdf

(Please note: We ask that you complete all information on the Schedule 3 with the exception of section 6: Canadian Educational Credential or Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) Report, it is not required. In Section 7, if you have already provided language testing results, we do not require them again. If they have not previously been provided, we ask that you send us your completed language testing results)

· Updated evidence of settlement funds (showing 6 months deposits/ withdrawals history) for yourself

· Medical examination for yourself
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

· New original police certificate for yourself from your current country of residence

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

· Updated letter of reference from current employer confirming employment along with detailed description of your duties OR proof of current enrollment and attendance at school.

You can't use GRE/TOEFL for Canada immigration. In fact you have to do the general IELTS, not the academic. It's that specific. Depending on where you are, you should be booking ASAP to have your IELTS done. CIC knows what you have submitted, and they are clearly asking for it, even though it appears they asking you if you already did submit them.

Hi folks,
My situation is this: I got the MR on October 10th, where they mentioned we need to take medical exams for both of myself and my wife. The email says that the medical forms would be emailed to me in the next 24 hours. I was expecting two medical forms, that is, two IMM 1017s, one for myslef and one for my wife. But as of now (48 hours have been passed), I have got the IMM 1017 form for my wife only.
Yesterday morning, after 24 hours had passed since I had received MR email, I sent an email to Ottawa, asking them for my IMM 1017. But, they have not responded to it yet. Keeping in mind that, we are passing a long weekend, I do not see any possibility to hear back from Ottawa within next couple of days.

I already have made an appointment with a designated physician on next Thursday. Hope that I will hear back from Ottawa by Wednesday. If not, then I may have to reschedule our medical exam.

Now, my question is, do the physicians necessarily need IMM 1017 form for each of the applicants in order to conduct the medical examination? I heard about the existence of IMM 1017-Upfront, which the physicians keep and use for cases of upfront medical examinations. Can they utilize IMM 1017-Upfront for PR applications as well?

HI,
I read somewhere in this forum that they will need only one IMM-1017 for PA. Please double check on this.
Thanks

you applied in may 2010, i'm not sure if ielts was mandatory at that time or not. after 26 june 2010, CIC said IELTS general is a must; so I guess if it is not a mandate at that time, you don't have to take an ielts test now. CIC is asking these forms from everybody (after june 2010) these days, but if we already submitted ielts, no need to take a new test. i'm sure this is correct about those who applied after june 2010, before june2010, i guess it depends on the requirements then.

Hi..Congratulations. did you use canada post envelopes when you send your passport?

Thanks, you're a world of help to me as usual ::) It is obvious that it varies since a cursory search on here shows some people get 1 year expiry dates, some get 6-7 months and for some it apparently says something along the lines of "valid until expiration of passport or medical exam, whichever comes first".

I'd still like to know what anyone who is currently getting their passport back is getting for an expiration date. I haven't seen any evidence of short (<6 month) expiration dates yet, curious if those are happening.

I have actually seen someone whose visa was valid for one year but his med will expire in less than a week after the visa was issued. I guess they ought to have extended his medical but they didn't.

Hi Com2Canada:

Congratulations, I wish you safe landing! ;D

May I ask, what docs did they ask you to send them, which they processed in lightening speed? Below is what was asked of me:

" Updated IMM0008 “Generic Application Form For Canada”

· Updated IMM5669 “Schedule A” for yourself and your spouse

· Updated IMM5406 “Additional Family Information” for yourself and your spouse

· Updated evidence of settlement funds (showing 6 months deposits/ withdrawals history) for yourself/ your spouse

· Original police certificate for yourself and your spouse from the State where you are currently residing

· Updated letter of reference from your current employer confirming employment along with a detailed description of your duties OR proof of your current enrollment and attendance at an educational institute."

Many thanks,
Cam

Hello wucike:

Good to hear from you again! Yes, we have the exact same timeline. Wonder why it has taken me and you over 3 years and some of the applicants of 2010 got theirs in 8 months! Crazy procedure.

Well com2canada seems to have the same timeline as we do and he has PPR, so maybe there will be good news for us too someday soon. Keep in touch my friend.

I guess we are on the same boat. I'll keep you posted of any new developments.

Thanks Cam. They asked for the exact same thing from me. Getting a response from CIC depends on a lot of things/stage of processing - your background checks, medical evaluation/concerns, your Visa officer, and many more. I do think officer DS01608 is pretty fast to respond though. But the trick is, just because one officer sent doc request doesnt mean he's the one that would process the file.

Hope you here something soon
