Hi All,

Today i received my CAIPS. As expected nothing has started on my file. Not even Background/criminality check. Ottawa shucks.
I am FSW1-MI2. Don't know when i will get some communication from Ottawa. I see few people who applied after me are getting medical request and updated document request.

Did you request your CAIPS on line or through mail? How long it took you to receive them?
I understand your frustration, also did not get any communication concerning our file I am thinking to order CAIPS, or you would say that it's does not help.

Folks,

I need help from this forum to understand how my FSW2 application would proceed now.

I recently got a request from CPP-Ottawa to send updated documentation along with latest reference letter from employer.My employer specific work permit is valid for 1 more year but
unfortunately i got laid off last month.I have both FSW2 and CEC application in-progress now

FSW2(AOR received october 2011) and CEC(AOR received september 2012).I have in total 3+ years experience inside canada.

-Will my FSW2 application continue to process as i have more than 67 points (even though the arranged employment 10 points in total are subtracted).
BTW,My employer is willing to give me an exp. letter for the period i worked.Dont know if that would help my FSW2 application

-Is there a chance FSW2 can get converted to FSW1 if i am able to provide proof of funds?

-Will i be asked to withdraw FSW2 application and wait for my CEC processing?CEC processing seems to have slowed down...may be due to the strike

Could someone please advise me on this?

Looks like they are concentrating on FSW1 (MI-1) and FSW2 (MI-2) only.

Is your file still with ottawa?? I hear some of the MI-2 files were moved to mexico & port of spain.

Although our files are at stand-still, I am not totally disappointed by their work..in last few months..I have seen lot of activity for others.

Yes i think my file is still with Ottawa. Because i haven't received any email regarding transfer to Mexico or Port of Spain.

i ordered CAIPS online. I ordered on 30th May. I guess its good idea to order CAIPS, at least it will give you details about your file. whether Ottawa started background/security check or not.

I dont think anybody would be able to answer this question with precision. However, if my guess that continuous job offer is a condition for FSW 2, I doubt if CIC will waive this. However, it may be better to call CIC to see if you can pick someone's brain there.

a similar case was dealt in the following way - PR2012 - PL NOTE


FSW2 demands that applicant remains in job with same employer till PR is granted with limited exceptions

In ur situation - INFORM CIC ON THIS CHANGE - withdraw fsw2 and continue with cec - remain in canada till validity of visa - apply for bowp and status change -

limited exceptions refer to due to unforeseen Delay by vo in passport stamping and employer terminates the job offer due to long absence of the person waiting for visa - this occurs in scenario where an applicant lodges passport for visa at ndvo as n example.

however the above does nt apply when an applicant receives pspt, mr, rprf together

it only applies for applicant whereby an applicant has got mr line on ecas and all final review is done and receives a letter stating " application ready for visa issuance from visa office" in this scenario an applicant in canada leaves to home country to drop passport to vo and incurrs delay in obtaininig passport ( i mean visa stamping delay)

I have some more questions:-

Though my employer specific work permit is valid for 1 more year,can i apply for BOWP(based on AOR received for CEC).I can produce my relieving letter.
Well, i do know i may not comply by the 4 month work permit expiry rule to apply for BOWP.But would CIC consider my situation?Is it worth a try?Any thoughts?

One other factor is my spouse is working now on spousal work permit.Will the spousal work permit be affected if i switch to BOWP from employer specific WP?
I have thought over this but I am kind of confused.Could any one help to advise please?

I have a question and I appreciate if someone can help me. my friend is one of the applicant got transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa. After three years , last month Ottawa office contacted him by email and asked him to fill up the forms again and send police certificate from RCMP with proof of fund. He do not know if it is good to update his job history letters and send it with the requested documents!! I hear they rejected one of the transferred applicant from Buffalo after 3 years because they were not satisfied with the job history letter, what do you think guys? did you have the same expereince before? thank you for your time in advance
