Hey everyone!

CIC has just updated the website!

They changed the 15 months processing period of Ottawa-CPP to 13 months! ;D
Hope this would result in faster processes, and many good news for us. ;)

Take care!

I guess The processing time might be counted since the time files were transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa.? The files of most of us were transferred in May--Aug, 2012. So it means we should expect to get some responses, such as MR, in June--Sep., 2013, which seems a little reasonable interpretation.?

Yes, the end of June would be 13 months for many of our applications. I believe we start to hear more from them soon.

Hi guys,

I need a help. This is the current status of my application

We received your application for permanent residence on June 7, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on November 1, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the Case Processing Centre Ottawa office. They are pending review.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on April 24, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

The last update was on 13th May 2013. They haven't requested passport yet. How long I have to wait for the passport request? I am confused here

Thanks

OMG, it is the biggest joke of the month especially in this tread where people are waiting for years. If they consider 13 months since Ottawa received the application, it means nothing cause Ottawa started working 12 months ago. Hope for the best of course

Most of the files were transferred to Ottawa after May 2012. So 13 months is reasonable for them to send out Medicals, etc.
At least it is a positive sign! They could update it from 15 months to 23 or something!!! Like the previous update (in Jan 2012), where they changed the processing time from 8 months to 15!!

Okay not to disappoint you but here is my 2 cents:

- It was 15 months coz they mostly took care of cases from 2009 last quarter ( they just processed like a case or two IIRC). God knows how they came up with 15 months coz I don't think ottawa even had any cases 15 months ago...anyways
- It is 13 months coz they are processing most of the files from just before June 2010 which were transferred last May (2012). So they are *calculating* current processing times to be 13 months.

Doesn't really mean anything.

IMHO the processing times are not at all an approximation of what we can anticipate since CIC changes so many rules and criteria like every quarter ! I hope the new system is stable and consistent for the future applicants!

Hello Experts,

I was requested to submit a new police certificate along with other updated documents two days ago. I have been living in toronto for the past ~4yrs now so I was wondering if there is anyway I can get away with not submitting it as it takes a hell lot of time to arrange for it. I have sent cpp-ottawa an email but would like to know if anyone has gotten away with not submitting it.

Thanks

Why new PCC - You have been living in CANADA and that takes a lot of time...

However, these documents never made their way to the file and we have been unable to locate them since. Can you please submit the above-mentionned documents again and put them to the attention of Case Analyst XXXX, at which point we will be able to continue with the assessment of your application for Permanent Residence to Canada via the Federal Skilled Worker program.
