It looks good that something is happening on 2011 cases.

I am a FSW2 applicant filed my application on June 2011 and not sure ...when I am going to hear from them.

Andy Andy11,

Do you have job here and applied under arrange employment category?

Hi Bahadur,

No i don't have job offer. I applied in April 2011.

That the reason i asked Jbaby about job offer. Becasue if you see the previous posts there are 3 more person received same email from Ottawa regarding Transfer of their files to Mexico City on 15th April.

So, just want to make sure if Ottawa is transferring only files with Job Offer to Mexico City or files like me without job offer is also getting transferred.

But from Jbaby response it seems my turn will come soon.
Lets hope for the best.

Thansk,
Andy

I hope they don't transfer my file. I will sue these b*****ds if they do!

Transferring files is a good move. Ottawa is overloaded with applications! If you look at Mexico's processing time, it's been getting shorter since 2010.

Not necessarily, when they moved the files from Buffalo to Ottawa, the clock started ticking once they arrived in Ottawa not since they arrived in Buffalo. Applicants lost up to 2 years with clock resetting. Now some of these applicants will have their clock reset again with new Mexico City office. Not to mention, Mexico city took over the Caracas files since they closed this office when they closed Buffalo.

All I got to say is that I hope they will keep my file in Ottawa, I'm already 10 months in (since they moved my file from Buffalo to Ottawa) and Ottawa processing times shows 15 months.

I don't know why you keep referring to those numbers (15-16 months). They don't mean anything for backlog applications, ANYTHING. Do you think Ottawa will process whole backlog in 15 months since files were transferred? People are waiting for more than 2 years for at least some news, and having app transferred to Mexico is at least something for those people.

You are assuming that the clock will be reset and it won't. The email that I got clearly states that I will be contacted by Mexico's VO within two months, not one year. It also says that my application will be processed faster.

Guys,

Stop having discussion over this. We don't know anything until we know so lets stop predicting anything. We did not know that they are going to close Buffalo office when we filed our cases, we did not know that Ottawa is going to take so much time. .... So lets hope that the move benfits everyone.

If the applications are transferred to different VO, its a win win situation as it will decrease backlog count in Ottawa and also other VO can process the transferred cases faster.

I am 200% confident that the decision of transferring cases to different VO is to make the whole process faster ...not to slow the already delayed cases.

Lets see what happens.

Bahadur30, Agree we should wait and watch to see what will happen next. Let's not become personal over which VO will process faster. Hope cases from Ottawa and Mexico will get processed soon.

My lawyer has informed me that it seems applications submitted at the end of 2010 and beginning of 2011 are being transferred to Mexico. As i am a August 2011 applicant they said my file has remained in Ottawa. logically this transfer of files helps everyone. Lets say 1500 application have been transferred.....my application has now been bumped up 1500 spaces in the line. Applications sent to Mexico are being processed as priority from the way it sounds. Lets hope they utilize another VO for the remaining backlog.

We are taking advantage of additional processing capacity at our office in Mexico City to complete the assessment of your application.

Your application is part of a small group of files that has been transferred to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City. Your application was transferred to Mexico City on April 15, 2013.

The Canadian Embassy in Mexico will communicate with you via e-mail. The email you receive will come from email addresses that end in “ @ international.gc.ca” or “ @ cic.gc.ca”. Thoughts?

P.S. I applied in Feb, 2011. Since AOR no communication until today, and ECAS status RBVO
does this mean the rest of us that haven't transferred our files to Mexico City VO has to wait longer??? ???
