I gone through this situation, I renewed my passport for new work permit also my PR application was under process meanwhile. I renewed it on urgent basis for my WP and got it in a month anyway, I got my new WP and also I inform Ottawa by sending a scan copy of my passport and they confirmed me that we received your documents and will be updated accordingly.

Guys one question.

my passport is expiring with in 14 months of time, as I see I have to get a new with in a year of time.
it takes 2 months to get a new passport.

what is the procedure to update this details to Ottawa?
and what happens in mean time If I get a PPR ?

has any one gone through this situation ?

yesterday I got my new WP and valid for another 18 months. I will be applying for passport renew soon with a month or two and planning to inform Ottawa about the renewal process. But worried that may delay my passport request.

I wabted to know how to update Ottwwa on this??
Should i fax them my
Docs or call the call center??

As for ure passport.. I too had to get a new passport, that was right before i applied for the PR.
Dont know how u would go abt that.

I might move to Montreal and apply for a new work permit (they said that since i have a CSQ i can apply for a WP as long as it's for a JOb in Quebec). Anyone did something similar?

As you are in Canada immediately apply for GCMS notes that should tell you where your application is right now?
have you done your medicals or not ?
I guess by default all applications are in Ottawa.
I suggest you to apply for GCMS notes and also you can fax your change of address and new WP to Ottawa...it cost you not more than $2.

about passport renewal I am not sure how to go about it. I will wait for another one or two months and them apply for passport renewal.

Having only CSQ doest not get you a WP. that only exempts you from LMO.
to get a WP you need to have a job offer.
I am not sure if there is any condition that exempts some people from job offer too ? Call CIC.

I haven't gone through a situation like that, but I'd say, If you get the new Passport ealier than the PPR, you need to inform them and give them the new passport number, since you gave it in the first place. if you get the PPR first, then it'll be fine, nothing to worry about. You have to inform them via Postal Mail (registered preferred) or Fax. (no Email, because its better to get a confirmation that they received the info) Thats what I would do.

their is not single FSW 2 got ppr till now
how long it take for us , even i applied in FSW 2

The information is coming from ME. In my application package i had to give the Passport number and expiry date. So, my common sense guess is, that i would need to give them my new passport number, because once they are ready to receive my passport for the COPR, and they will see its a new one, they will realize the difference. Whether they "really need" or not, i don't know. I would send it, so they have it.
