Hi there,

If we see PPRs coming now for those who applied in May 2010 (Congrats! :)) (so takes about 2 years and 5 months to get PPR), does it mean that if I applied in May 2011 (FSW2, MI-2), I could receive PPR in October 2013?

What are your thoughts? I know there are pros and cons in regards to if this process will be fast track or not really. Any examples?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Crazysun,

We applied on the same day! So what does your GCMS say about your application status? Is your eligibility and security check finished?

this is the status showing....

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 30, 2012.

When we take a draft for RPS fees, do I need to mention my File number anywhere? how the CIC will come to know that the draft belongs to me? only my name ???

Just add an explanation letter with your file number.

Guys one question.

my passport is expiring with in 14 months of time, as I see I have to get a new with in a year of time.
it takes 2 months to get a new passport.

what is the procedure to update this details to Ottawa?
and what happens in mean time If I get a PPR ?

has any one gone through this situation ?

I haven't gone through a situation like that, but I'd say, If you get the new Passport ealier than the PPR, you need to inform them and give them the new passport number, since you gave it in the first place. if you get the PPR first, then it'll be fine, nothing to worry about. You have to inform them via Postal Mail (registered preferred) or Fax. (no Email, because its better to get a confirmation that they received the info) Thats what I would do.

Hey Guys,

I am following this forum for quite a while. Thanks for sharing.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I got an email from Ottawa today.
I asked for the required documents for my change of status in May, I sent two more emails after that, No reply!
And eventually, I sent all the documents I thought I should early September. and today I got a reply to my first email sent in May!!!.
They just listed the documents I need to send them.

Too late but better than nothing :)

I was also thinking the same, but wanted some advice from similar experienced people...

We have only one month left for this year.
If we do not get any news by this month end...and then forget about November and December. those are holiday seasons.
most of the people will be on vacation and we can't expect any updates from Ottawa....
