Hi everyone, new to this forum. I just wanted to see if anyone has some news or links to recent updates regarding the files that have been forgotten that got transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa.
My timeline is as follows.

FSW2 received by CIO:Aug 2011.
Application sent to Buffalo: Nov 2011
eCAS status changed to "In Process": Feb 2012
File transferred to Ottawa: July 2012
Medical request: Pending
Passport Request: Pending
Visa: Pending

I have no idea when i would expect to get my PR. Anyone with similar timelines that has got PR already of been requested to take medicals?

The Ottawa Case Processing Centre posted on its site that "all (FSW) files received between June 26, 2010 and June 30,2012 will be assessed in 2013 and that files received between Feb 27, 2008 and June 25, 2010: as many as possible will be processed in 2013".

What's the difference between assessed and processed? Does this mean that files received between June 26, 2010 and June 30,2012 won't be processed? They will just be looked at?

I am wondering the same thing! assessement only for this year and not processing?!

Yes they seem to be very vague with the words they use between processed, assessed and reviewed. I can only imagine assessed is after processed, because if the pre july 2010 apps will be finalized by fall 2014 that would be our applications would be finalised in 2015 which i don't think would be the case. I'm thinking/hoping we are a step ahead of the pre 2010 apps. I'm just wondering whether it'll be finalised towards the begining, middle or end of 2013. Any CIC employee or immigration officer on here who can shed some light?

try to be optimistic but the CIC timelines for Ottawa have been updated from 8 to 15 months, which is definitely not the right trend ...

I would think the 15 months would apply to all new applications being sent directly to Ottawa. Not the ones being transferred, as processing for us had already begun in buffalo right?

I'm going to call CIC tomorrow to ask them what they mean by "assessed" compared to "reviewed" and "processed". They probably won't know but it's worth a try.

seen this news on tv last night and read some comments from people regarding those 10,000 files transferred from Buffalo to Ottawa visa office....the forgotten cases and I think out of 10, 000 files only 1,950 cases been processed so far. So sad.

It really is sad. This Kenney guy really has no clue what he's doing.

Wait a minute....you're telling me on ecas you're one still says "application received" still?

When i log in, it says "In process" and when i click on that it goes to the details page which says "We recieved your application on August 3rd 2011" So i'm guessing we're at the same stage, they may not have updated your ecas.

I suggest you both cygnet and Tej apply for GCMS notes....
I had the same issue that I never received medicals even after 11 months..and found from GCMS that they sent the mail and I never received the same...after contacting them with proof they sent me medicals...

and do not go by e-cas...it is not reliable...mini also says application received.

Ecas is working, i just checked.

I have requested the notes....should take a month to get.

I know we haven't missed any mail. My lawyers haven't received anything and the last status check with Ottawa mentioned that my application is processing. I'm sure they would've mentioned that a request for medicals was sent out.

Regarding medicals in my case also they always told me that i have no action at that movement when ever I sent a mail to them.. I even indicated that I have not received mail regading medical...but I always got "no action required from your side"....and finally I found that they sent the medical request a long back and never bothered to check if I have do ne it or not.....

so bottom line is e-cas is not useful and the mails that you get from CIC are standard templates...
