I suggest that both you and the lender (whoever giving you the money) write notarized letters (separate) that states the reason for the money (for example, so and so is my son/daughter e.t.c. and I had promised him this money once he achieved........) and the money is not refundable..... then make a copy of the check (if that is what it is), and highlight the bank statement section where the same exact amount appear then attach everything and send to them along with your letter stating......this is to certify that so and so... is my father/mother..e.t.c a and he/she gave me this amount for the reason......... I confirm that this amount is not refundable since it is a gift..........solmode said:Hello guys,

This is just an explanation For my case, I made a copy of the rental checks that totaled $2,600.00 with a notarized explanation and sent it to my attorney for onward transmission. That was in 2011 and I have never had question(s) regarding the same.
