Ecas updated as medical received.
I am not able to get the FBI within the time frame allocated by CIC, so have done state PCC and am planning to mail it with a cover letter explaining the delay. Has anyone done the same way...please share ur experience.
Did CIC get u back if u had send the cover letter?

Wow that was quick update. From your profile it says you completed medicals on 11/25 and it has already been updated? I did my medicals on Nov 8 and haven't received an update on ecas.

I have a question about the settlement funds when you are coming first time, which is getting landing status after receiving the PR. How much money can you bring without paying custom duty? like from sale of property or some other investments. I am not talking about the proof of funds for skilled worker class. Please suggest

You can bring as much money as you like, and you do not have to pay anything for it (no duties, etc.).
However, if you exceed an amount of $10,000 (in cash, cheques, or other liquid values), you have to declare it and possibly have to explain, where it comes from (this is to fight money-laundring).

Btw - this is also the case in many other contries, even if you are just passing through (i.e. EU and USA).

I dont think you pay custom duty on fund (traveller cheque, draft, cash etc); you only need to declare it if it is more than $10k. The departing country will also have the minimum amount that you have to disclose--check with the relevant agency.

Hi cam,
yes, they did; I applied April 2011, updated docs and med request were end of September 2013, PPR was mid November, received the COPR/visa about a week later (I didn't have to mail my passport, only a scanned email copy, so they sent my COPR/visa within a few days of that).

I have only a week left and FBI hasn't even charged my CC so will not be able to submit in CIC deadline. Anyone ??

Hi ashutosh,
In my case, I got rprf and medical request in the same mail. And within that mail it was written that the instruction for medical (along with medical form mail) will be forthcoming. If I do not get it within next 72 hrs then I have to inform cic by forwarding this email to them.
But I got medical form in a separate email with next 5 mins. So you should better check yr spam messages or even have a look in yr inbox itself (you might have missed it thinking it's just a newsletter). Also just check if there's an enclosed file (medical form) within the same email in which you are asked to submit yr rprf fee.

Thanks Summy, I did my medical today. They did email medical forms within 24 hours, so worked out well. Thanks for suggestions though..Hopefully every 2011 applicants will get their PR soon, as it has been a long wait.

My lawyer said he will wait till next week to ask for extension. But honestly I don't know how they ask or to who. I called FBI and the woman told me it could take in total 10 weeks because the goverment shoutout ???
