Yes, I got a mail from them on 8/25 (dated 8/17) including two letters 1. a request for my divorce decree from my prior marriage and 2. a letter for my husband saying that they're concerned he may not have sufficient funds to fulfill his obligations as a sponsor and they want him to send them back a bunch of crap including bank records for the last 12 months, proof of income/letter from employer, leases, debt info, letters from family members offering support ... etc
Which, I personally find very very strange. Yes, my husband is a student and doesn't currently have a job but everything I've read shows that they don't care about financial stuff unless they have reason to believe the applicant is unable or unwilling to support themselves. Also, he was already approved as a sponsor! Why are they even looking at his financial stuff in LA at all?
But anyway we put together a big package with bank records and our savings accounts and letters from family and lots of other info and I'm sure it will be fine because we have a large amount in savings and I'm totally able to support both of us anyway. It's just irritating that they're asking. I guess maybe its because we didn't include much stuff with the sponsorship app because they say financial situation doesn't matter. Most people probably include much more than we did so maybe that is why we are the only ones in the history of the universe to get asked for this crap
As a side note I find it quite strange that our IO signed the letter personally with his full name and everything
