HI Rossei:
There is no guide of any sort stating anywhere that PNP approval eases the chances of visas. It is my observation that those who have PNP approved, their spouses find it easier to get visitor visas. I mean, alot of people I know who were not successful to get their spouses here before getting PNP approved. But the success ratio suddenly jumps once you have a PNP certificate.
There are certain terms between the provinces and the federal government of Canada that states that "nominated members should be allowed to come to canada on work permit before the issuance of Permenant Residence". But as you many know Federal will come up with some bullshit reply and reject visas stating " the applicant wont return to their home country". So yes, your wife accoding to province-Federal commitments should be granted visas; but the ball is under fedeal immigration to let ur wife in before or after the PR. I hope these explais you what exactly I meant; but if you are planning to put up another application for you spouse TRV let me know. I mean, I am not a consultant of any sort and seems looks like you know more then I do; but I will be happy to provide you the details on my application.

From my general understanding, it's actually harder to invite your wife over here once you applied for immigration. Because it's a legit proof that you want to stay in Canada permanently. My wife, in fact, was rejected twice. It was her first time in 2010 when I invited her to my convocation while I was still on study permit. I had my job offer letter even before that, so I showed it. Nothing worked. She again applied this year with the PNP Certificate and got denied as usual. She was never called for an interview or anything; reasoned with the same statement you mentioned.

Well, I know from seeing others that it's easier if you are an Indian. It seems little harder from Bangladesh. But again, one of my colleagues, who is in the same boat as me, invited his wife from bangladesh just before applying in CEC and she got the VISA. We work for the same company as NEW GRAD ENGINEERS and started almost at the same time. This actually put me think that I shouldn't have gone for her VISA after applying for PR.

I did not make up my mind yet that I will make her apply again. It seems worthless of trying and may prove faulty towards immigration. I know that it shouldn't affect our PR process; but getting rejected 3 times may cause troubles. And I don't want to ruin our immigration for sure just for the VISA when it's not so far.

Seems like a sad story...Cheers!!! 8)

HI Rossei:
Dont be sad, eventually all will turn out to be good in the end. As we all know, visa officers are always known for rejecting people.I myself had no hopes of my wife getting a visa because I have heared so many rejections that it is very rare to see success stories. But dont you worry my friend , time will heal everything. Its just a matter of time.
And yes, Indians do not get any special treatment LOL! and when I applied for Visas, I made it quite clear that we have applied for a PR in buffalo and even showed the PNP certificate. So it didnt harm me telling them the truth.
I hope we both should be getting an AOR in 6 weeks.... ppl from nov-dec are getting AOR's.
keep me posted bro.

If anyone has ever applied with his/her spouse in PNP category to CIC-Buffalo, please share how you received the AOR/MED REQUEST for your spouse. Did you receive it along with your letter? If your spouse lives outside Canada and you inside here, was it sent separately to her? Thanks.

I still did not find an answer. It would save some time for me and others who have their spouse in their application.

Hello Rossei,

I got the same email today as yours.. Exact same thing with file# and where to contact. Saying they recieved file in 28th Jan. Its unusual they send an email.. Do you know anybody else got this email or what happened after that?

So what is our next step.?? Do you think we will get our medicals soon?? Just curious..

That's good. I think we might have checked somewhere in the application that we would prefer email correspondence. But don't you worry because I probably have my Med Req letter which is waiting at my friend's place. It came yesterday and I'm going to get it tonight.

I will let you know what's in it. If it's what I'm expecting then yours on its way.

Cheers!

I got the mail a few hours back. It has:

  • 1-Page of Buffalo File# B XXXX XXXX X and Bar Code Labels for future correspondence
  • 1-Page form for change of address (in case for mailing and faxing)
  • 1-Page describing medical test procedure for applicant
  • 2-Page general instruction/info for DMP and 1-Page Medical Test Form (IMM-1017: Section A - Client Identification & Summary) for myself
  • 2-Page general instruction/info for DMP and 1-Page Medical Test Form (IMM-1017: Section A - Client Identification & Summary) for my wife

It doesn't have rest of 6 pages of the Medical Test Form (IMM-5419: Section B~E); but the DMP should have it from Director of Immigration Health Program (Ottawa). It's said in the "Info for DMP" pages that they should have it or they should contact Ottawa.

It doesn't say anything else re: my wife like where she should do her medicals. But it's recommended that all family members should do their medical examinations with same DMP. But that doesn't apply to members that are outside Canada but accompanying

It doesn't say anything either re: RPRF.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Rossie,
Congrats.. Just have some doubts still.. So are you gonna send only the last part to your wife..
2-Page general instruction/info for DMP and 1-Page Medical Test Form (IMM-1017: Section A - Client Identification & Summary) for my wife.. SO you are sending 3 pages to your wife
Is that right?
Also are you able to access ecas yet? Cos for me I am not able to access to ecas either with UCI or application number.. Also My UCI# was same number as I had in study/work permit.. which you told for you its different ..
Thanks

I'm going to FeDex all 3 pages and also 1-page letter describing medical steps/procedure for the applicant as well to my wife ASAP.

Yes, my UCI# is different from my work/study permit Client ID# (I don't know why). I think it's good that yours is same. In fact, my wife got her UCI# as well in the medical form (which is obviously different from mine).

I can login to my E-cas from this Sunday. The E-cas is updated and refreshed once a week (probably Sunday). So, if you got your email after past Sunday; you have to wait till coming Sunday to be able to login. So, don't worry and keep trying ;)

I'm not sure but I'm guessing the DMP back home will have to send it back to Ottawa. Since the instruction set attached to both my and my wife's medical form are exactly same and it asks to forward the form to Director, Health Programs (RNH), CIC, Ottawa.

Hello guys,

Just wondering how ppr gonna come for us (with spouse living outside canada)? If it comes to us (principal applicant) like we received medicals, can we sent that ppr to spouse and she can stamp visa from her nearest embassy by walking in? (in my case can my wife stamp her visa from New delhi by just walking in -to embassy like everybody does here in Losanageles and seattle). or do I have to gather her passport and sent to buffalo or she herself can send to buffalo or Newdelhi by post?

Kinda confused... Also any updates about paying RPRF?
