All - my wife applied for a family class sponsorship for me. I was on a H-1B visa in the US. I submitted my medical and FBI clearance letter and all the required paperwork. In November of 2008, the Buffalo office sent a letter to my home address asking for I-94 and other information proving that I was in the US. Unfortunately, I had already left the US (on assignment for my US-based company). I just had all my mail forwarded and I read that "If you are unable to provide these documents within 90 days, your application will be transferred to the Canadian Immigration Office responsible for your country of Citizenship".
Well - 90 days are definitely up and even though I have a valid H-1B visa, I am currently not in the US (am still on assignment in Singapore). My home country is India, and I am assuming that they will send the file to New Delhi. Canada Immigration did not provide any information on where this file will go or how long it will take to process.
Can anyone advise what I should do to get information? Do I call the Buffalo office, or New Delhi office? Or should I head over to the Canadian embassy in Singapore to get more information? Please help!
