Thaiguy,

I had checked with the local police station. They will do the fingerprinting for free but won't do it without a card.

My son is home from college for spring break so I wonder if we could get the finger printing done first. Wait for the request and then submit to FBI. Will FBI give us a hard time for fingerprint taken more than 3 months?

download the fingerprint card from the http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/pdf/fpcardb.pdf photocopy it on heaver paper, take to Police station for prints.

It doesn't matter how old the fingerprint is - the FBI will accept it. I gave them fingerprint cards for me that had been printed a year and a half previous.

Thank you. Your response helped us a great deal. With my son being away at college, we now know that we could get the fingerprinting card done first when he is home for spring break.

Hi there,

Prepare yourself before Immigrating abroad.

Good luck.

Hi Chsieh,

Your and my timelines for applying and getting AOR are same. I also applied from Canada in Buffalo in Sep 2007 and got AOR in NOV 07.

It would be great if we could share any updates using this website.

I have one question that anyone can answer, I have never been to US should I also go for FBI security check???

Thanks,

Dear Friends

I am new to this forum. I have few questions to ask and feel forum member will relieve me from the extreme anxiety these questions are causing me!!!

Applied on 9th October 2007
Received AOR on 25th Nov 2007
Request for ILETS received on 6th December 2007 with 120 days notice
Dispatched the IETLS (scored 8+8.5+8.5+8) 3rd March 2008
Now waiting...

Request for IELTS by CIC reflect upon the stage of your case???

Apart from my home country, I have lived in the UK for about 6 years and that too at various places; somewher for 18 months and at some places for less than 6 months. Do I need police report from all these places???

Same is the case of my home town; we have changed few addresses after I was 18 years old but in the same city. Do I need police certificate from each police station???

I will highly appreciate any reply.

In the CIC website, if not wrong u need to submit police certificates
when u are 18 years and over and had stay in countries for more than 6 months

Kadaraleem,

Johnyum78 is correct. Only if you lived in the contry for 6month and above since your 18th birthday.

MEDICAL REPORT GOOD FOR ONE YEAR?

Dear Thaiguy, Bla333 and AP,

I believe the medical report is good for 12 months only. What happened if I do not get any decision from the Visa Office within the one year period. My medical report is good till 28th April of this year. Do you think I have enough time to wait for a decision, get a passport stamp and land in Canada within the next 3 months? Do the medical report also has to be valid when landing in Canada?

Our PR Application Timeline (Buffalo). We are on one of the 38 list.

- Application Sent on JUN-08
- AOR received on OCT-08
- Current status as of JAN-09 "in process"

Is anyone on the same boat here? Not sure what to expect or when. Does the timeline they quoted of 6 to 12 months for processing counts from the day you sent the application or from the day they sent your AOR? Really confused here on how Buffalo is processing its applications. If anyone can share any information please do, thanks.

If your native language is "OTHER THAN ENGLISH", CIC will ask for IELTS score submission
