Hi Dollarguy23,
We had a similar situation.
After submitting the supporting documents to Buffalo in May 2010 we moved to our home country around August 2010 and requested for address change quoting the CIO file number as we were not provided with VO file number. The new address was updated the following week.
Then we happened to receive our VO file number in September, but the following week e-CAS was reflecting the old address...again after a week we requested for address change, but the very next day we received a mail from Buffalo saying that our file is being transferred to LA. Then we waited for a week for the e-CAS to reflect the File transfer update, after seeing the update we requested the LA office for address change and got a confirmation reply saying that “We have updated your address”. The following Tuesday, e-CAS was showing the updated address.
If it still shows the same old address, send an email to NY VO using the below format
On the
subject line write: your
File number (Change of Address request)
In the body of the msg,
Dear Sir/Madam,
I, your name (File number: ---------, DOB: ----------, Country of Birth: ---------------, Citizenship: ---------) requesting for address change as below
Your address…
………
………
………
Kindly request you to use above address for future communication.
Yours faithfully,
Your name
Try this... wish they update this time. All the Best
Regards

Thank you USH1B for your reply earlier. Sorry I am responding late but have been traveling extensively.
I am now tired and maybe you or someone else in the same boat can suggest something.
While my file was still at Buffalo, I had notified them of my change of address and they promptly updated it. THEN my file was transferred to New York VO in Oct last year. After the file transfer E-CAS reported the old address in the address field. I wrote around 10 emails to them notifying them of the incorrect address......nothing happened. Didn't even get a response except the automated system response.
I then sent them a registered letter through Canada post notifying the same......nothing again. Finally I tried to update my address in E-CAS (the link to update the address suddenly started showing recently)......alas the result is the same. The address never got updated.
This was the reason I asked you if the medical requests are snail mailed because even/whenever if they are sent out, I will not get them!
Oh! and not to mention, I also called their call center and they said, the VO will have to update the address coz they are unable to.
And then I wonder why people here get upset with my slangs lol
Anyone has any better ideas? Please share.
