Hi All,

Is there anyone in this thread who had to update their address with buffalo visa office in the past?
If yes, did you do so by email, phone call or fax? Can someone suggest me what is the most reliable method to inform buffalo of a change of address informaiton. I believe that sending multiple requests is not recommended by VO.

Please help and give me any information regarding this.

Thanks.

Send email to buffalo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca
Write subject with your file number and explain about your communication to buffalo VO.
I used this above email address for my application update.

Hello friends,
I am new to the forum, was looking for the answer if people are receiving medical requests who have received AOR from buffalo in Nov-Dec 2010. Its been a year waiting after AOR and 22 Months since filling in CIO Nova Scotia. Have people received the medical requests in recent pasts ? I believe that, for some time processing have been very slow.

1) 23 Jan 2010: Initial application sent to CIO
2) 18 Mar 2010: March 2010 - CIO AOR
3) 25 Mar 2010: Application transferred to the Buffalo
3) 06 Jul 2010: Full docs recd at Buffalo
4) 16 Nov 2010: Buffalo AOR
5) 30 Jun 2011: In Process
6) 03 Nov 2011: File transferred to NY

a friend of mine, her file has been transferred to NY September 27th and got her MR Nov 13th. keep your figure crossed.you will get good news these days

the CIC website strongly advises that "don't use online service to change the address". they will not download anything from the website.I think it is safer to fax it.

I am not sure where you saw that. but the data you enter is encrypted and secure. and the entries are directly updated in the database. they do not have to download anything.
yeah, as you said if any one got doubts it is better to use fax.

buffalo sent my file number with a letter last year. in that letter it was mentioned "if you want to change your address don't use the online service. because we don't download it". I don't have any explanation for that. because as you said there is a facility to change the address online. any way, I just wanted to share my experience. may be it was just for buffalo or just that time and they can do it right now. as I understand the immigration procedure is like a afterlife. nobody can say what is going on down there.

Yes, we can't say about these procedures...if they said not to do online there must be some reason. here is another point, if some one who does not got any file number ( for example my case only), how they can change their address. I was told by Buffalo not to send any documents ( I wanted to update my new born sons details ) to office till I get the file number.

Ok Today I checked and I see that in between Thursday and today they have updated a line with

`We transferred your application to LA and they may contact you.

I am checking for vitality_doctor there is an additional line after that says " The office has started review etc".

Phew -- something changed after a long while.

My file transfered to Seattle,WA visa office. Hope they start the real process now.

can't believe what I'm looking at - hope it turns out to be a good one......

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on March 17, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application and supporting documents were received by the New York office. They are pending review.

We transferred your application to the New York office on March 24, 2010. The New York office may contact you.

We transferred your application to the New York office on November 3, 2011. The New York office may contact you.

that means, something's moving somewhere?

As soon as I got the mail regarding transfer of my file from Buffalo to New York, I ordered fresh set of CAIPS notes to see what were exact notes/comments at the time of transfer and thereafter until the date of issuance of CAIPS notes (at NY VO).

I got the notes today and am disappointed to see that nothing has been done on my file after my PSDEC (paper based selection) was done on 19 October 2010 (day it went into IN PROCESS). New York office has given next BF'D as 22 January 2012. Very frustrating...

i assume they've transferred applications to other offices (not all maybe) to start clearing up the backlog. You should be looking fwd to getting your meds in a few weeks time (Jan/Feb). CAIPS i guess are not real-time updated by them.
