CIC is working to closely manage arrivals in Canada, so that we meet, but do not exceed the immigration levels plan set by Parliament last fall for 2011. Since we have larger inventories than room within the immigration plan for admissions to Canada, we must stagger the review of applications throughout the year.

We do not anticipate that we will begin to process federal skilled worker applications from October 2009 during the current calendar year. If we are able to initiate processing earlier, we will contact you.

e-Cas is for applications processing within Canada only.

Immigration cases being processed in Visa offices outside Canada use a system different from that used to process similar applications in Canada. As a result, the e-Client Application Status (e-CAS) does not reflect the status of cases being processed in Buffalo.

Do not use the CIC e-Cas on-line change of address system. Your new address will not be downloaded to your file in Buffalo.

1. - Seems its a canned message that they are sending to everyone and they just change the month and year based on the requestor's dates. I got the same message for Jan 2010 applicants. People who have applied before you should also send mail to Buffalo and see what is the range they go upto.

2. - If eCAS doesn't give the true status of applications then who does? Clearly above is a canned message and does not indicate true status. Do they mean its a black box for us and just keep waiting? I thought GCMS was meant to integrate all VOs together. That's the reason for going slow in May and June 2011. Unless they just integrated visa processing and kept status updates out of scope for GCMS!!

room3 just wanted to make sure you've read this before you finalize your decision:

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/visas/medical-medicaux.aspx?view=d#Advance

Personally i think even if Buffalo accepts your advanced medicals, it would only speed up your case by maximum 2 or 3 weeks (i.e., the time from 'Buffalo dispatching your MR' to 'Ottawa receiving your medicals') ... if Buffalo has given your file a BF'D 3 months down the road (heaven forbid, may you get MR already) it's unlikely they would look at your file before that just cz of advanced medicals.

I know it's really really frustrating but there is hope. The cap for new applicants this year is only 10,000 which means they are serious about doing something about the backlogs.

wow... thanks for the info... +1 for u...

Buffalo and NewDelhi both have a limit of 7500 and the number of applications Buffalo receive are almost 10 times the ND apps. this really disappoints the prospective North Americans...

also it looks like someone edited the limit number for London CHC

Thanks for the nice info. Now question is if I go for adv. Medical in December 2011, it will be valid for 1 year and I am very positive that within that time frame, most of us (I am sure all of us) will get the visas.

I also know cons about doing advance medical like, one will get less time for landing etc. What's your suggestion? And if I am not wrong you did the adv. Medical, whats your ecas status says?

Thanks and god bless you.
