I am on post graduate work permit in Canada and my work permit will expire in June this year, before my work permit expires I want my parents to visit me for 15 days as I haven't seen them for last three years. My mom is retired and her visa got refused for a family wedding back in september 2015. My dad is branch manager at a bank. I am going to apply for them just to visit me . Do you think the reason is convincing or I need to dind something else for them to visit here ?

My dad got 2 weeks of vacations approved and his job letter states his govt employement will be terminated if he fails to return after 15 days and my for Mom's pension as well she has to mark physical attendence every 6 months to continue the pension benifits. My brother is thailand. Regarding ties to home country we are showing ownership of house and my grandmother dependent on my dad

Financial assests for Dad: 3 fixed deposits worth $15000, funds in savings account approx $1100, Life insurance policy for dad worth $9000 and pension funds / retirement fund contribution for approx $20,000 , house evaluTion approx 60 lakh INR

Financial assests for Mom : 2 fixed deposits $24000 , saving account balance almost $3386 , Life insurance policy approx $1106 and active pension.

I am also showing my bank account details as I mentioned I will pay for their expenses in canada and they will pay for their travel. Approx $15000

Do you think I need to add something else and is there any hopefor visitor visa in this case ?

Hello
The assets you are including in file are sufficient for your parents.
however the most crucial thing is
>get the assets evaluation.
>CA report for all of your financial documents.
>Get sworn affidavit from your side, from your Mom's and Dad's side that they will return after 15 days and in your sworn document mention that your are promising to Canadian High commission my parents will not overstay and they will not breach any visa condition.
The little concern point in your case is that you have less time left on your visa, but hope for best and prepare your file with the hardest efforts.
Good Luck

Hi Nav,

Get sworn affidavit from your side, from your Mom's and Dad's side that they will return after 15 days and in your sworn document mention that your are promising to Canadian High commission my parents will not overstay and they will not breach any visa condition.
Unfortunately, no number of affidavits will convince the visa office that someone will leave the country.... what really helps are evidence of strong ties to their home country

Hi Sarah,

I want my parents to visit me for 15 days as I haven't seen them for last three years.
You can prepare a day-by-day itinerary with detailed expense estimates like typical tourists for sightseeing + to spend some quality time with yourself

For their ties:
a. Does your mom get any other retirement benefits apart from pension?

b. For your dad, also include his EPF/PPF (are you referring to this ie CAD 20,000) + LIC + any shares/stocks (if applicable)

c. Are your parents planning to visit your brother after their Canada visit? Can they submit any proofs?

d. For the FDs, include a FD Interest Certificate issued by the bank + a letter from the bank stating these FDs are not mortgaged and can be liquidated

e. Do a self valuation of their house.... or by a CA + provide realty reports/newspaper clippings/links to magicbricks.com/99acres.com for the area where their property is located + if there is no mortgage then do highlight this fact

f. How is your grandmom dependent on them - financially/medically/well being? Who will take care of her temporarily when they are away?

g. Have your parents visited any other country earlier?

Points of concern:
The finances shown by both your mom and dad are quite low to pay for airfare + approx. CAD 1000 per week of visit.... does your dad have credit cards (low dues)? Do they have any other finances for their visit.... even though you will support their visit?

Your mom must prove that she has addressed the grounds for the previous refusals + don't forget to answer 'Yes' for the *previous refusal question* in the TRV application form

Cheers

A- No she only gets retirement pension
B - Yes PPF which includes employee and employer share is approx $20,000
C - My dad's vacation only got approved for 15 days but for my mom I can always book a refundable ticket for her visit after my visit.
D - Yes , I have included certificates that funds are available any time,, also I have Dded two more FD's for my dad for approx $7000 on top of existing ones
E - We got evaluation done from the evaluator
F - My grandmom lives with both my uncle and my dad and in my parent's absence she will be staying with my uncle.
G - No, my parents have not visited any country earlier

We already have return tickets for their visit., and regarding finances all FD's can be liquidated anytime.. Its just that my dad keeps very less in savings and invests everything in fixed deposits. All together dad has 5 fd's for about $21,000 and mom has 2 fixes deposits for Round $24,000 . I am also showing my bank statement for approximate $14,000

Hi,

and regarding finances all FD's can be liquidated anytime.
You must include the letter(s) issued by the bank(s) stating these FDs are not locked-in/not mortgaged and can be liquidated, if required.

Its just that my dad keeps very less in savings and invests everything in fixed deposits.
Mention this point in the cover letter.

You may also want to get a bank statement in the first week of April because:
1. Just after your dad's salary is credited to his bank account i.e. before he pays the monthly bills + prove he has low monthly dues

2. The interest earned by the FDs will be credited to his bank account on/around March 30/31

This way he can show a higher bank balance

Other documents
1. You can buy an overseas travel medical insurance policy (refundable on cancellation, if required).... that match the dates of their visit + include copies in their TRV applications.

2. If your dad is likely to get a promotion or salary increase then evidence of this

3. Evidence that your grandmom lives with your parents + she is dependent on them

4. Hope your dad's leave approval/visit is well beyond the current processing time required

Cheers
